Default fitting STi intercooler to classic

Just wanted to know before I do this. Is it safe to cut the clutch reservoir down by 20mm? Can't stop thinking that it is this height for a reason.

Can it be done another way? Moving it for example?

cheers

i believe that is what you do, i only fitted a 2003 WRX TMIC to my 95 classic so didnt have this issue, but fitting the STI one, yes, trim the height of the clutch bottle, you could relocate it but this would require more work etc.

for best fit,as i did to mine, trim the depth of the throttle body link pipe, the bit where the 70mm tube connects the TMIC to the throttle body to give that smidge more room,i also trimmed the Y bracket just above the support link rod underneath the TMIC to allow easier fitment and also to stop the rattling/knocking of the TMIC onto this part.

i think each person does an extra bit or doesnt do an extra bit, depends on how finicky you are,i am LOL

good luck

Couldnt you change the reservoir to a different one to fit easier?
