Default Currant value / market thoughts please...

I have been watching the bay, and dealers for a couple of months now, with the thought of the reluctant sale of my 55 plate SL (full leather aircon/sunroof) PPP Wagon, I have even gone the "webuy" and "wewant" web route for valuations (both £5000 unseen, but I have heard they have your pants down when you turn up for the viewing)

Anyway, the spec is;

Owned from new, full supplying dealer (T.H.Whites - Cirencester) service history, recent 5 year / cambelt service, 38750 miles, prodrive long range driving lights and PPP (from new) are the only departures from standard. Boot liner from new.

T + T 11 months, powdercoated (smoked chrome) wheels and new REO50's all round 300 miles ago, new front discs and pads 500 miles ago.

Never been carwashed, always garaged, premium silver metallic.

Non smoking, kids or pets, the inside is mint, but it needs a new windscreen (chip under tax disc) and £150 worth of paint to the offside 'a' post (screen piller) where a lorry loose strap tagged me......no dents but three marks through the lacquer.

What would you ask for this car as things are at the moment, I need to price to sell, as the job is shaky, and I need my garage for my tools and to build a couple of old bikes to get some more money in the bank.

Please note; this is in no way an offer to sell, so please no P.M.s, it is just that nothing I see for sale comes near any of the online valuation prices, so maybe people on here have a better idea please?

I can give you a pretty good idea.

I just traded in my 05 Plate SL PPP Wagon with 61k miles for £6k. 2 owner, FSH, no mods. Even needed about £150 of paint like yours!

The dealer had it up for £7995 and it sold in just over a week.

I'm in the North East of Scotland though, so scarcity is a factor.

If I were you, I'd look for £6.5k private.

I think you'll be lucky to see 6k in the current market. But if you have been watching them then you already know that and came on here to be told different, but if your pricing to sell then maybe even less as there are not so many buyers about and now is the time or you will miss the boat and could be looking at considerably less in a few months as fuel goes up and the cuts start to really bite..

Taking it tomorrow to 'wewant' dot com.....they have offered between 5150 and 5500, so will post results.

Spent the last 2 days detailing it, and digging out the history etc. a small part of me is unsure now I have taken the depreciation hit (this was my first new car ever, and I am 54), especially when I saw the bill from last December for over 1k.........(cambelt service and new Bridgestones all round,... and WRX mat set).....the thing is, I can't bear still to leave it outside my garage.....it has never been out of my sight for 5 years.........is this normal?

FFS dont do that!

Someone on here will give you £6k for it. I got quite a few people interested when I advertised mine at £5.4k last month and it was older and had 22k more miles on it!!

It sounds like a really good car. Even a dealer should give you £6k trade-in minimum.

The market is not quite as dead as you think and wagons are always sought after due to the practicality.

Well. had an 'interesting' hour and a bit.....they were polite, but offered £600 less than the lowest figure of the two given in the online quote (including the inevitable "call to the boss")

So.......have paid my sales sub, and will try on here once I find my way around. I know my post count is low, please don't be put off by that and have a look in the sales section where it will be.

If no joy, then I suppose the bay is a total last resort, or may even keep it forever with the miles I do, but I would really like it to go to an enthusiast,

Please have a look......it is a bargain, and a 100% honest car!

Just tried to access sales, but no joy.......Is it my post count or other restriction (can a mod help please)

Anyway.........car is here;

FSSH by supplying dealer....all bills / mots / even the shipping form. PPP / Prodrive lights / tracker......have a look!
