The End of an Era!!!!!!!!!

I did this after more than 10 years, last June.
I did think I would really miss her - I did, for a while. But the reality that the world has moved on and it's not the all conquering device it once was hits home.
The high mpg's the lower tax the better equiped more luxurious cars start to confirm your decision to move on.
What you got now?

I think the time is coming where Imprezas an the like are going to have to be 'toys'. A car that is used rarely. The days where you could run one every day are very quickly fading away, as sad as that is.
Mine is now more of a hobby than something I need.

Well mine was just a weekend car too, but as PS Lewis has said times have moved on, she was a great car and I was very happy with her, but I feel now is time for a change, mine has got nothing too do with fuel prices or insurance, I just wanna change

My insurance is £400 cheaper than it was on the t2000. The road tax is the same as it was on the cacky Ford. And I don't give a rats *** about fuel prices.
Stop beating on Imprezas Petey, it's getting tiresome. Just because you decided you shouldn't own one anymore does not mean you reasons are sound for everyone else.

+1.. I owned a classic around six years ago when fuel/tax prices were considerably lower.. i went on to own an audi A4 TDI, Bora TDI, Golf TDI etc etc.. just sold my land rover discovery to buy a blob eye WRX wagon..
explain that!!!
I don't give a **** about fuel prices, why be beaten? insurance is identical to my landrover and tbh fuel consumption isn't that different and my disco was a diesel.. this car is fun.. is gives me a buzz and i look forward to driving it to work and driving it home again.. no other car in between my last scooby has done that and they were all remapped.. how many big 4x4's do you see on the roads today? thousands.. they're all paying huge levels of road tax and few ever get more than 30mpg.. doesn't stop them driving them though does it? i'll always buy whatever car takes my fancy regardless of fuel and taxation... **** em..

I sold my blobeye 3 years ago, do miss the noise every now and then but I've moved on and have to say it find my big 4x4 more fun to amble about in now due to the ever increasing potholed road and cash cameras on every road I seem to drive on. Lol tailgaters just dont bother me at all now !

Some people do protest way too much!!!
Times have moved on, I'm not Scooby bashing - the Classic will go down in history as one of the best cars of its time ..... and that's the point - of it's time!!

If you worry about money then you don't deserve to drive a decent car lol, i earn very little money and my Subaru is my pride and joy and getting rid of it due to petrol, insurance and tax doesn't even enter my mind, what does though is modifications lol which is more money all over.
Thanks
