Question How much to get a reliable 400/400?

As the title really, how much would it cost to do this to the 2.5 engine that comes in the RB320? Would it need to be forged? ETC

You could get pretty close with a decat and a remap but to go 400/400 you would defo need to go forged, as the pistons are **** poor and will let go.

Would say best part of 5k if not more for it to be done right and done once based on a roll up drop off and get the call to pick it up when its ready

Cheers guys, I would be looking to drop off pick up when done.

And the million dollar Q, who would you get to do it? I live in Yorkshire but would travel anywhere to the right place. I know it's going to throw up lots of names based on experiences.

If they could squeeze you in then Richard Henry at Bradford is my recommendation. 01274 732508

Torque could be achieved with just bolt on mods. However it is common knowledge that 2.5 bottom end isn't all that strong when you push it.

I know a lad in South Cave who'd be up for that...

Usually builds loads of 2.3 Ev* motors for the East Riding Ev* Mafia

P.S. You could also talk to Rick @ AET-Turbos...

Without doubt for me it would be David and the team at API, won't go wrong with them, won't be over sold something you don't need.

I.would.suggest you speak to a few tuner as you have to feel comfortable with who ever your are leaving your pride and joy with let alone parting with your hard earned cash its just API get my vote

its not always about how much will it cost.when going for an engine build you need to be more bothered about getting somewere that will do it right first time, and you wont find much better than enginetuner.

Have a word with Harvey smith, he posts on here as harvey. He's in Darlington.

He and Darren built mine, a classic with a fully forged 2.5 conversion, and many other bits.

Mine cost a bit more as I had to budget for a 6-speed box too, but I'd trust Darren and Harvey all the way, plus Harvey won't let you spend on stuff you don't need. VERY knowledgeable bloke

Martyn, is this car just running a standard ECU or does it run a boost controller also?

Banny a forged rebuild will set you back 4k?? When I was looking at dropping one in my old p1 a new forged block was not far off that. I thought it would of been alot cheaper by having the block already, I am shocked

If you supply the block maybe about £500-600 cheaper but not much more than that.
I priced a fully built 2.1 inc cdb, headwork, 14mm studs and cams and worked out to about 6k but engine was specced for 600+

Heatwrapped RCM tubular manifold, a good quality item that we have used time and again.

We looked after you to the best of our ability, but it is not possible to supply and fit replacement AP racing discs when the client has no money...................

You said you were going to call back when you had some - you never did.
