Hi Steve, still running in but when its all re-jetted and stuff will raise boost to around 14psi only 7psi standard so should be around 150 ish bhp 120 standard but can withstand heaps more as off to see Prima Racing just down the road from me who race and rally these, they have some insane packages lol How is your garage looking kid anyway?

I've only driven 1 Renault 5 GTT and I was seriously impressed with the turn in and feel. It was only a short drive I had at 18/19 years old but it left a lasting impression. I had a Manta GTE at the time and it felt much better at the front end than the Manta.

Looks like a nice bit of kit! Love the old school hot hatches!

Seems like a no expense spared rebuild. Looks like you got yourself a deal.

That looks like a very nice clean example. I've had mine around 10 years.

Doesn't look like that at the min though been sat in bits for last 5 years, need to get it back together and in good shape.

I've seen 350 bhp from one of these! Insane pocket rockets but they can be fragile, however looking at your spec list it seems all the t's have been crossed and i's have been dotted.

I've always loved these cars but I was put off by the scare of the engine failing (look at me now with a WRX), so I ended up with a 205 gti 1.9 instead.
I'll always regret not having one, especially in Tungsten grey which was my favourite colour. I will drive one though one day.

Had a number of these in my time and was a big part of the owners club.

Unfortunately they have a stigma attached thanks to the likes of K-Tec Racing and BB Tuning selling bleed valves to young owners resulting in blown headgaskets from poor fuelling.

Looks a lovely example.

Simply stunning. Love the exposed orange hoses to the fmic.

Mind me asking what kind of price it was up for?

I bought a new one in 1988.It was Tungsten, a metallic grey. Great car but a bit fragile. Gearbox casing cracked resulting in jumping out of gear and a broken clutch cable all within first 6 months of ownership. Steve

I had a blue gordini turbo, , fantastic car, then a lotus sunbeam, that was always sideways, then a 5gt, I preffered the gordini, it was put together better, very reliable, and cheap to run.

Yep,great in their day.SO small & chuckable...cars are just too big today.
Good fun for scaring rep-mobils as well.Turned me on to Turbo Power!

Wierd thing is,when I looked on Google for a pic,the one I found,I am pretty sure is my old car.
I painted the rims between the spokes black to match the car.
