Default Deepest tone backbox?

I have always been after the really deep burble with exhausts and not

volume, I have had 7 different ones but my exhaust still isn't as deep as

others, I've a TSL firestorm, afterburner vortex, and currently have a Ninja

2 for the second time, any ideas which exhaust gives a deep growl?

It's a 2.5" system and a 1997 uk turbo with full exhaust system, thanks

Deepness is more as a result from exhaust material used. If memory serves me correctly mild steel will give you a much deeper and less tinnier sound than stainless steel. The downside is mild steel doesn't last as long as stainless steel nor looks as nice and shiny. The ideal solution is aluminized mild steel but that can be quite expnsive.

Think it also depends on the centre section. If it has a resonator in it, it wont be as loud and deep. I have the resonator in mine and its a little dissapointing. Cant hear much of the subaru burble at all.

Im running a JapSpeed exhaust on my Sti because that was what the previous owner fitted, but I've always had Magnex exhausts on my cars and my mate with a MY98 2000 has a Magnex on his and the exhaust tone is much deeper and not as in-your-face as my set-up

It will cost you a few quid though

I have the Apexi which is lovely and deep. Backbox stainless steel but rest mild steel hence why mine now has a hole appearing.

Good luck finding one though and if you find two give me a shout!

Magnex 6 x 4 oval with full decat rattled the windows and set off alarms it was so deep but............couldn't hear yourself think above 4K rpm. Gone
to a prodrive back box. Plenty loud enough.

Im wondering about this too. I have ppp downpipe/sport cat, the centre section is a straight through RCM but I currently have prodrive back box but want low rumble tones rather than loud and hollow.

Any suggestions? Btw I am driving a newage blobeye.

ive also had a few different exhausts, ive found that the nicest sound comes from h&s original scoobysport design.2.5" or 3".they both sound good with proven power gains.

I think it might be because my down pipe , middle section and backbox are from 3 different

brands

I believe the mid-muffler/resonator just removes the raspy/dronny part of the note and preserves the deepness (note that is not the same as loudness!).

I'd go with a backbox that looks like it flows a lot, i.e a big cannon with a wide mouth. This gives a good deep burble sound in conjunction with a mid-muffler.

if it makes no difference, mine is slightly raspy from cold
