V power only, though both my cars are JDMs and even when I had my UK MY00 classic, she only ever got super.
The only cars that can run unleaded are UK turbo's too as they are mapped for 95 ron, all the rest need super and above (higher the better) otherwise you end up with blown engines due to det though good for the breakers as it keeps them in trade

Mine gets the standard Morissons Unleaded and seems no worse for it. My engine is a standard UK 2.5L model. I did 30K on unleaded and I've done another 10K on LPG and the engine runs just as it did the day I bought it.
I did run V power for a few months, there was a slight increase in power but nothing amazing.

For the sake of a few more pence whats the point in sticking anything less than V-power or Tesco Momentum in your car, I certainly wouldn't want to buy a car that's been run on normal fuel

If the people who actually designed the car, (the manufacturers), state it must be run on 97 octane or above, then what does that make someone who totally disregards this simple instruction????
Whatever next? Someone using Castrol GTX mineral oil because they think their car will be ok with it?

Fine, if it states 95 can be used, thats ok! It when it states 97 or above and you insist on using 95 because you know better than the engine designers themselves, thats when it's a problem.

My handbook says.
non turbo models.
all models except 2.0 liter sohc 95 octane or higher
2.0 liter sohc 90 octane or higher
WRX 95 octane or higher
WRX-STI 98 octane or higher.
So if you have an STI the only petrol i can think that's available in the uk is v-power or Tesco momentum 99.
The people who say i only felt a slight performance increase with v-power should ask themselves why. It's not that the fuel is giving you more power, its your ecu knock sensors detecting knock so turning your power down when using lower octane fuel.

I've got a WRX PPP and on the certificate it states your vehicle can be run on RON 95 premium unleaded, but for full performance they recommend RON 97 super unleaded.
So how i see that is in an emergency say like on a long trip your low on fuel and the only petrol station about does 95 Ron only then you can use it, but don't expect the full performance or figures they state in their documentation.

I've been using V-power but since the local stations have put the price up to 1.51 per litre I'm now using Ron97 Super from both sainsbury and BP, performance wise seems the same as it was on v-power.
I do Know people who have both new and old classics running on v-power stating when stripping the engine down both the valves and heads appear to be cleaner on v-power but then it depends what brand/octance rating they were running on before anyway

Oh God not this again.
UK cars (non STI) can run 95, says so in the handbook and on the fuel cap if you know how to read and not turn words round.
STI's and JDM and PPP'd cars - 98 or above.
