A brilliant day at FB tuning, My FMIC , new turbo, up-pipe and fpr install
Well what can I say another brilliant day at FB tuning with Richard once again delivering far beyond any expectations.
Before we started we had a quick coffee and discussed our plan of action for the day.
(car on ramps before we started)
The day started with Richard working at a blinding pace, so fast infact my camera could not capture his movment it was just a blur and within a few moments my front bumber and all the lights where removed.
(see a blur !!)
Next the intercooler was bolted to the bumper Iron after a few bits of gentle persuading with a big hammer!
Bolting on the new Up-pipe (one of Harveys custom ones) and the VF48 was the next task.
With no rest for the wicked Richard then Installed all the intercooler pipes and fitted the induction kit (with some shortning of a zerosports hard pipe involved)
All that remained was to fit the FPR and re-locate the catch-can (this had to be moved to make way for intercooler pipeing) and of course the dreaded bumper cutting.
AND NOW BUMPER CUT !! the bumper cutting process was I think the longest part of the day ! as offering it back up and making small adjustments after each small cut took quite some time.
Richards better half turned up half way through us cutting the bumper with some bacon and cheese sandwitches (Thank you!!! littleun!) but she decided we were taking too long and wanted us to stop so tried to flood the workshop by destroying the tap!
After 15 offerings and re-cutting the bumper was finaly done and was bolted back to the car. A nice result I think.
All finished and done the car was now ready for mapping, we spent about an hour or so putting a base map on the car and testing out the new equipment,
what can I say about this... IT NOW GOES LIKE STINK! , harveys up-pipe is brilliant the vf48 reaching 1 bar of boost at just 2800rpm, and holding boost right through the rev-range.
The Hybrid GT2 intercooler is doing a great job of things with the car taking alot more timing through out the rev range than the previous map on the top mount.
Funds are tight now after spending out on all these bits but I will follow up with a trip to the dyno in the near future, Richard estimated 330bhp at 1.3bar and potentialy 350 or more on the dyno with 1.5bar of boost (wich we tested the car at and she held boost with no knock at this lvl)
Parts fitted on the day and work carried out:-
Hybrid GT2 FMIC (supplied by Harvey)
Custom Up-pipe (supplied and made by Harvey)
VF48 turbo (delivery miles only)
SX fuel pressure regulator and elbow joint to replace standard FPR
Turbosmart megasonic adjustable BoV
K&N Induction kit with Zero sports intake pipe (shortened).
catch can re-located and re-piped
Bumper cut and finished
Re-map
for full mod list see my garage
Many thanks to:-

Keep hearing only good things about Richard at the moment. Glad i live close enough for him to work on my car.
How long did it take to do all of the work if you dont mind me asking?

Looks like a lot of work for a day and the bumper fit around the intercooler looks spot on FMIC's generally take over a day on their own! I'm hoping to fit mine this weekend but I'm not looking forward to it, might do it next weekend after Rich has fitted my 6 speed

Very good write up Dave, supported with pictures that will help others follow your lead.
Nice to work with someone who asks questions, listens to the answers and takes the advice. Richard has made a very neat job of fitting your GT2 Hybrid.
Nice to see it all coming together.
