Possible new owner
Good evening all
Start by saying you have a pretty sweet website with a abundance of info to trawl through
Im gonna be looking for a replacement for my current car soonish and have decided im gonna get a scoob just which one i have not decided on yet as i didnt realise just how many variants there are
I will have about 8-9k to spend when i do and will be replacing a
Mazda 3 MPS so will have to be something pretty special to equal and excede it.
Have my eye on maybe a P1 as its a limited ed and hopefully would be more likely to hold its value more.
Thanks for reading my ramble

Welcome Barney,
For that kind of money, you could buy a very nice Newage Sti with plenty of power. Its a buyers market just now, cars are selling between 2-4k under market value. I think P1's are over valued, i would rather buy a minted R type / RA if you like the classic versions. IMO

If you are new to scooby ownership and want to step up from the Mazda I'd go for a Jap MY05/6 Import and set some money aside. Twinscroll turbo, wider track and DCCD diff control ..........give it a couple of hours and TonyBurns will chip in with a few likely candidates LOL
As mentioned I'd set some money aside to modify it to an MPS beater

Only thing i didnt really want to do at least for a while was modify anything
i bought, have been pretty spoilt with the MPS there is nothing much
unmodified or in a lot higher price range that gets near it even on the twistys.

There's a fellow club member of mine on hampshiresubaru.co.uk selling a P1 for 8.5k. Just had a full rebuild by api I bealive and is pushing close to 350bhp. Is a very clean car! Just shows what you can get for your sort of money.
