Default Bugeye For Sale Value?

I'm thinking about selling my 2001 (Y plate) WR blue bugeye (WRX) which I've owned since new and has covered a little over 91k. It has full service history and has wanted for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (And I do mean nothing!!!)
I'm thinking about creating an ad on the for sale forums but have no real clue what it's worth these days. Can anybody offer any help?

Trouble is, the car isn't standard so I can't assume book price.

Full spec is something like this:

Subaru aftermarket Gearknob
STi9 full centre console upgrade including STi aluminium gear surround
Subaru triple gauge pod with Lamco boost/oil temp & pressure gauges

Prodrive springs/Geometry settings
Whiteline front anti roll bar and heavy duty droplinks
Whiteline rear anti roll bar and heavy duty droplinks
Front and rear strut brace’s
Prodrive Quickshift

Brakes

Prodrive 330mm disk and caliper conversion with Ferodo DS2500 pads front & rear
Goodridge stainless brake hoses with Dot 5 fluid

Engine/Exhaust Mods

Samco intercooler hoses (Blue)
Autobahn 88 water hoses (Blue)

Walbro uprated fuel pump
Ecutek custom remap by Bob Rawle (329bhp / 330 lb/ft)
Scoobysport centre sections, downpipe, and backbox
Harvey Smith up-pipe

Green panel filter
STi Spec C (12 litre) boot mounted intercooler water spray system with dash mounted spray button

Sounds

Blaupunkt MP72 MP3 head unit and A09 5 disk in dash CD changer

Some pics...

Not looking to break it in any way but it needs to go to a good home and someone that will look after it....

Cheers

Nick

Sorry dude but at the end of the day it's a y plate bug eye wrx and as such is one of the least desirable scoobys and i'm not a hater.
With the mods if you can find a buyer in the know 4.5k max.

If it were me i'd keep it, better the devil you know.

Very nice looking car, with all the right mods.

My advice would be to keep hold of it mate, you will NEVER get back what you have put into it, and more importantly you will never find anything good enough to replace it. if running costs are an issue and insurance, id suggest something like a 106 diesel for running about in and keep the car. (the scoob will feel like a lambo when you use it too ).

as said above though if you intend to sell it no matter what, id guess you would get on a good day about £4500, but it really needs to be a good day...

Keep it

I'd pay no attention to the tight fisted ***** on SNet (notorious for it) ... stick it on P/Heads etc for good money & take it from there.

Hi Nick

Sorry to hear you are thinking of letting the bug go, nice car though There's a tale on here about someone who tried to sell a standard bug WRX for £2k but couldn't sell so it went back to the finance company who auctioned it for £2.8k and it was re-sold on for £2.6k a short while later.

£4k sounds about right for the mods, god knows what my bug is worth, probably a little more than yours as it has a 6 speed jap box / methanol injection and 12 pot brakes.....but not a loy more I guess. I'm simply going to drive mine into the ground until it's worthess. sad really

Best of luck if you sel it.

Cheers

Thanks for the help guys. And thanks to Terminator for the suggestion about shoving it on Pistonheads!!! (I've done it now!)

If I decide to keep it, are there any good insurance policies available where I can insure 2 cars? (A guy I was talking to from MLR has a policy for 2 Evo's and a BMW 330 cabriolet and it weighs in about £1400 per year - One of his Evo's is modded to over 400bhp too!)

Cheers

Hi Shaun
Hope you're ok??
It's a tough decision about the car but I'm not gonna let it go for next to nothing anyway so it'll be staying in the garage if that's the case!
How's your car these days?
Any new pics of it? (And spec)

Cheers

V Nice car imho.

I have a modded 2001 bug, with 301bhp Hybrid TD04 mapped by Andy Forrest, H&S sports cat with Prodrive BB, EBC Bluestuff NDX pads, Prodrive springs, Whiteline ARB etc. 95k miles with a FSH and Silkolene Pro S used for the past 5 yrs while I've owned the car.

I was thinking about sticking it in for £3790ono?

Really nice bug and fantastic mods.

In the real world though as many have said it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. If you're prepared to wait long enough you might get top dollar but there are a lot out there to choose from and it's a buyers market for these cars at the moment with petrol prices and insurance costs.

I would reckon £4-5K is possible, but more likely £3K-£4K. Whilst the mods are great they don't really add value to the car unless someone is willing to pay over the top for them.

I picked up my standard WRX 53 plate with 90K FSH for £3.8K couple of months ago although the guy initially wanted £4.5K. Best bet is to have a look on PH and see what prices are and if they are selling or have been up for a long time.

Good luck if you decide to sell buddy!

Hi Nick, Thanks for asking, I'm very well but busy with 3 kids and all that goes with it LOL

It seems quite a while since we started on our bugeye journey....you, me, Ninnybobs, Butty, Steve VRS and a few other started modding the bug WRX to make it the car which should have left the factoryand maybe a bit more

Mine hasn't changed much in the past few years as I have been busy but here's a quick recap (with pics at the bottom)...... worth £6k on a good day with a following wind

External
As pic but now with Rota GRA's in white, the 19" Kahn's broke the bank and also broke the ride so had to go. The cost of the Ganador mirrors was also a bit of a shock!!

Interior
Bug STi interior and steering wheel, Sti titanium piston gear ****(way too cold in winter) plus defis and SECS.

Brakes /suspension
Tar-ox 12 pots up front and tar-ox big disk conversion at rear. EXE-TC fast road coilovers set up by Matt at RCMS

Engine/drivetrain.
STi Pinks, Deadbolt monster ported TD05 18G, RCMS headers and induction with Revolution 3" exhaust, Aquamist methanol / water injection with 12 litre tank in the boot and the fancy controller and guage in the cabin. AVCR boost controller, APS FMIC. API 6 speed jap conversion with jap rear diff. 403 BHP according to Bob Rawle.

I'm looking to go for a 2.5 conversion and am in the middle of collecting the bits LOL

Glad you are going to keep yours

Cheers

Shaun (the MR2 in the first pic had to go as well to make space )

Nice car mate! I'd put it up for whatever you think it's worth! I've got an 02 bug 90K with mods and I wouldn't let mine go for less than £4.5K and that's the least i would be willing to sell it!

There will be somebody out their that wants it, just be patient buddy.

GLWTS!
