Default engine swap time

the poor old wagon has been sat on the drive for the best part of 6 months due to HG and Water pump fail. time has come to get the beast back on the road i think.

its a 95/96 wrx wagon (manual) with the individual coil packs, td05, etc.

are all the ej20 engines the same? ie i can buy a rebuilt engine and swap my ancillaries over?

wheres a reputable place to get one from?

cheers (getting sick fed up of driving the audi )

Careful with recon engines on ebay - SMR refurbs are just a coat of silver paint there are others though that are on ebay and can be trusted (see below)

Either get a second hand engine from somebody on here or go to one of the respected companies, My engine is a (Andy) Williams Motorsport build (WMS on here) he also does recon engines and he does do then on ebay as well - mine is a great engine.

I'd get a quote from Andy for a rebuild of your engine, you can remove it yourself and pallet it to him and you'll get it back fully rebuilt with ancillaries on to the same level you sent it out.
