Instrument Pack? - New Scooby Owner
#1
hi all
I bought myself a V reg impreza 2000 turbo at the weekend.
I pick it up on sunday - cant wait
Its got quickshift, and a 'performace exhaust' that was fitted when the car was delivered new. Any ideas what this would be?
Theres also an instrument pack - something that sits at the top of the centre console. Any Ideas what this is? what functions it has? Seems to have a compass..
Would it be worth going for the PPP?
I like the sound of more torque

Hi, welcome....
The Performance Exhaust is most likely to be the Scoobysport one. Most dealers will supply and fit these. I doubt if it would be Prodrive as these are only supplied as part of the PPP.
The quickshift, I think will be the Prodrive one.
The PPP is worth it if you are:
a. Feeling flush. It will set you back the thick end of 2 grand.
b. Value your warranty. It is the only 'Chip' that IM will endorse.
Everyone I know who has the PPP sings its praises.
The instrument pack is, I believe, the dash binnacle and a fancy digital compass. If you can, ditch the compass and invest in Boost, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp gauges. These will fit in the pod, although you have to get a DIN sized gauge mounting plate. I went for Autometer gauges.

True, but I did say most likely, not definately and a good percentage of UK cars have Scooby Sports exhausts.
On initial read, I thought the Exhaust was dealer supplied, on second read I see that may not be the case

so i can swap the compass for the nice dials? excellent.
the exhaust was fitted when the car was suppied to the first owner... same time as the quickshift.
sounds great....
perhaps the PPP will come down in price when the new one is released for the new car.
I have been following the other thread with the PPP going as a bulk buy. I am tempted...
This would be direct to prodrive?
hmmm
2 grand... could afford that in a couple of months... do they take visa? :P

"Instrument Pack" consists of compass, external temperature gauge and barometer/altimeter. The compass isn't very accurate, the altimeter is only accurate if air pressure remains constant and the barometer is only accurate if you don't drive up or down any hills!
