a mate of mine is thinking of getting a uk 2000. he asked if i could find out all i can for him on things to look for on buying a car and tuning it and so on. cant think of a better place to ask but do know this he is 18 and can only get insured on a uk so no imports lol

18 and getting insured on a uk turbo, must have deep pockets! lol
I was running around in a 1.1 Citroen at that age..
I'd check with the Insurance co and see if they'd actually insure him with any declared modifications on it before he goes ahead..
he'd be best putting a discrete back box on it and panel filter if anything IMO, Hayward and Scott group n and an sti panel filter etc
maybe look at improving the handling using uprated arb's, bushings and eibach springs etc before he touches the engine..

I advise not to go for power mods with not long since passing their test. it'll be quick enough for now. let them get used to the roads first.
