How to....Remove a Classic Headlining.
Couple of people have asked how to do this, so this is my quick guide to removing a heading on a Classic.
Tools:-
Philips Screwdriver
Flat Head Screwdriver
Some Spare Time
And a bit of brute force.
There is no particular order to do this, but i worked from the drivers seat backwards and around the car, just for a simple system
Start by removing the Sunviser, the right side just unscrews and the left side requires you to push a screwdriver into the gap, and one on the other side to unclip the piece of plastic, as seen in the pics.
(Pic is passenger side, but they are both the same)
As you can see, the gap between the lining and the plastic is the same both sides, slide the screwdriver in there.
After the sunviser, i moved on the the rear grab handle, which involves opening the cover and unscrewing it from both sides.
after that, i removed the 4, 2 part clips.
These clips are in 2 bits, the grey outer bit pushes into a black inner bit, to remove them, you need a screwdriver or hook, to pull the grey bit out then pull the black bit out, i would remove one to show, but its a pain in the *** to get back in, but do able.
then move round to the passenger side, same again for the rear grab handle.
then on to the front passenger handle, this is the same as the rears, apart from it slides a little, but removal is the same.
then you can remove the interior light, you have to unclip the clear light cover then remove the screws remembering to unplug the wire to the light before trying to pull it off, lol
then you can remove the passenger sunviser same as the drivers one.
Then onto the mirror.
Slide the cover forwards or just unclip it. There are 3 screws holding the mirror on.
once you have removed the mirror, there is a black clip holding up the headlining, just pull that out.
Right so now, you should have, 2 complete sunvisers, 3 grab handles, 4 grey clips, lots of screws, and an interior light.
Now for the hardest part of all, getting the headlining off the roof and out of the car.
1st all, you need to remove, partially or fully its up to you, the black plastic side trims, that go upto the lining.
Starting in the middle, pull it and it should unclip.
Do the front ones 1st then the rears.
To remove the lining, the way i did it was..............
Once all the side trim was removed or pulled away, i pulled the heading lining down, and towards the BACK of the car, i found you need to do this so you don't bend it, if its moved ALL the way to the rear, the front part is pretty much near where the black side plastics overlap.
Because you've unclipped them, they will move towards the middle of the car, this will give enough room to then move the headlining back forwards and out of the front trim.
Repeat the same for the rear, to get it out of the car, lay both seats flat, tilt the front left end into the passenger foot well, and wiggle it out of the passenger front door.
To refit, do all of it in reverse!
I know its not the best guide ever, but most of it you'll figure out when you do it for real, its not hard at all, it took me less than an hour to remove it.
Any questions, feel free to ask.

Excellent write up mate, have considered taking mine down & refitting it, as it sags a little in the back due to the tilt/slide electric sun roof ,but never bothered as i never have any rear seat passengers lol.
