Default Nicked after japfest

Well i got caught doing 70 through a 50 after japfest by an unmarked car and have been issued with a £60 fine and 3 points. My own fault just gave it a quick blip and unknown to me he was behind me, its a fair cop guv as they say. Was just wondering if anyone knows how much roughly my insurance is gonna jump up by?

If you only have those 3 pts for speeding i doubt it will rise at all. Be sure to phone your insurance company and tell them or they could invalidate your insurance if you have an accident. Most allow upto 6 points for speeding without too much hassle unless you're a youngster.

Depends who you're insured with.... different companies will load different amounts (some nothing, some a lot)

In theory you don't need to let us know untill renewal time, but probably best to get your details updated.

These un-marked police cars being use for Traffic policing gets my goat. The primary objective of the police is to prevent crime rather than catch. Posting a jam sandwich in full view would have prevented peeps from speeding. Using an un-marked car only serves one purpose !

North Yorkshire's finest were outside Harewood Hillclimb today, but were busy with a MK.II. Golf. But the two guys on bikes gave me a nasty stare...

28 in a 30 limit

No need to inform Insurance Company until renewal as far as I am aware?

I thought you had to notify as it's a change of circumstance? I personally would say anything until my licence came back stamped with the points. It's not unheard of for tickets to be dropped. A friend of mine was all booked up to go on a driver awareness course when they received a letter and refund. Turned out there was a problem with the equipment used. Rare but keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks for all the advice and info it has cheered me up. I suppose on the up side i drove like a vicar for the next 100 or so miles and saved some fuel. Apart from that incident had a good day at japfest.

I saw a unmarked BMW with a hand held speed gun as you entered a 30mph just after leaving Japfest
