Default help need on lamba sensor

hi i have a 1994 classic wrx it is fully decated i have just noticed that the lamba sensor is in the downpipe but the wires have been sniped ive asked around and been told that as its decated it doesnt need it is this true ?????

Have a look in the drivers side of the exhaust manifold thats where the lambda sensor in the early classics is. the one in the downpipe is probably just to bung the hole up.

Full exhaust on mine including gt spec manifold, no lamber sensor on my car. Holes just bunged.

You sure your not looking at the EGT sensor (cat on fire)?? Trace the loom back to the engine bay, the lambda has 3 wires to a square connector block located on the drivers side of the engine, and the EGT has a round connector, located near the BCS bracket on the inner wing.

If it is the EGT then you can safely remove it.
