Default Clutch slipping???

Had an odd thing happen to me today, I was in 5th gear doing about 50 floored the throttle and it just seemed to rev, seemed to rev a good 1-2k before the drivetrain caught up. Did it again later, but I've had no problems further down the gears and it still pulls like a train in all lower gears.

Is this my clutch slipping, can someone with more knollege than me please explain.

Cheers Tom

Yup it's starting to go, I've got the same. The car simply cannot accelerate at the rate you are trying to apply and a worn clutch will break free and slip.
I've got my new clutch but have yet to get it fitted. Has been noticeable for a month or more now and still pulls well in 1st to 4th when driven sensibly.

Mine too. Feels a bit like an automatic when it kicks down.

Mine has been doing it for a few months now, but I probably only do 50 miles a week.
I don't think it'll be too much of a problem cruising in 5th all that time.
