Who say's Impreza's aren't economical what a weekend.
Some of you may know that SN regular Swiss Tony was getting married this weekend. Me and Lisa were lucky enough to win invites to the "do" in the un announced SN raffle.
A bit like the Olympics tickets raffle only different.
So Saturday comes, bags packed, hotel booked, we fcuked off "down South". One slight problem was no sat-nav as I couldn't find the in-car charger, oh well, have to make do with the good old road atlas!!
Filled the car with V-Power on Saturday morning;
Made a slight-ish detour on the way down, with Lisa navigating - she did very well too - and we arrived at our first stopping point.
After a rather long drive, we finally arrived at our "digs" for the next couple of nights.
Uplands House in High Wycombe.
Sunday was spent hunting around High Wycombe for a suitable in car charger for my sat-nav as there was no way I'd be able to find our way into London, (Halfords came up trumps for once), to meet up with a fellow SN member, Asif. Top bloke with a lovely family, had never actually met him before, but, he welcomed us in to his home like old friends. His Scooby goes and stops very well!
After a good few hours and a swift run about in the cars it was time to head back to the hotel for the party.
Parked up on Sunday night alongside a fellow Scoobynetters P1;
Plan was, not too much to drink and a reasonably early night. That plan went out the window at half seven. 2am, rather pissed we finally hit the hay.
The newlyweds, Ahhh.
Well today comes, almost time to come home. Breakfast with Chris and Zoe.
Then we had to go and meet Paulo P, to pick up some seats I was buying. Cheers for a bargain Paul.
Home time. Has anyone noticed that I haven't mentioned petrol since the top of the page? That's because I hadn't put any more in the car since I filled up on Saturday.
Filled the car back up with V-Power in High Wycombe. Older folk will remember De La Soul singing about the Magic Number. Well it isn't 3, that's for sure. It's 400!
One tank of fuel, and one awesome weekend.
It was then 309 miles home

Funny thing is, there were more Subaru's at the hotel on Sunday night, than we saw in the entire drive down on Saturday.

I'm only sorry I couldn't have joined you guys. Isaac is just a little too young to be left for a couple nights and there was no chance of us bringing him with - you'd have had him on the Newky Brown

Great to finally meet you mate and it was also great to meet Lisa I was impressed to get 320 miles to a tank from mine but you've blown that clean out of the water! Even Chris's sport won't even do that!
Glad you had a good weekend and I'm really pleased you were able to make it Thanks for making such a long journey down and hopefully I'll see you again Glad to see you looked after my car last night

You don't want to know what we did on your car after you left last night.
It really was an amazing weekend, finally got to meet far too many people than I can remember, who are you again Paul?
I said to Zoe at breakfast that I couldn't remember pretty much who anyone was. That may have been drink related though.
The 400 mark was a total bonus, if I'd had to fill up 3 times each way it would have been worth getting out of bed on Saturday.

It was a great weekend, and we wouldn't have missed it for the world. It was well worth the trip, and it would be nice to all meet up again

Was slightly exhausted Maz.
The mileage was on 399 when we got to the Shell garage near Paul's, so I drove round the block for the 400.
No idea how my heavy right foot managed it, seriously thought I'd struggle to get 300 miles. It probably helped that we never really got stuck in any traffic.

Christ,roubhly working it out,on what i put in and what distance i get, for £130 id get around 550 - 580 miles and that would be doing 60-70 all the time.
what speed was you averaging ?
my classic isnt mapped and has had a few engine mods,so maybe that accounts for some poor mpg,has yours been mapped ?
fair play,glad the wedding all went well lads/lasses

I just stuck to the speed limit mainly, 70mph. Although there was some B-road stuff thrown in as well.
Mines not remapped.
