If it's a proper 20G then £400 is a good price. I've seen them sell on here for over £500. You just gotta hope it's not a cheap eBay copy. Seems strange it hasn't got any markings on it, mine has Mitsubishi and some numbers on it. You'll find out when it's on and mapped up, will either make good power or it'll destroy your car.......
Power wise, a gooden can make 400bhp. Youll see threads which state 420 plus but in reality, on an accurate dyno, 380/400 is the norm (with supporting mods ofcourse).

There are some bargains, I paid £320 for mine. Proper 20G and made 390 at zen. Would of made more but injectors were almost at their limit.

Looks like a proper 1 to me m8! I had 1 that was the same as that( from wat i see from the pics)My tunner checked the codes on the cold side housing against 2 other 20gs he had sitting and was the same even kno the housings were slightly different. (just the flat surface not milled off) also looks like a later model. Think u got a bargain m8!

If your having the fitting/mapping done by a specialist then they will be able to put your mind at rest fella. Let them take a look and go from there.

Best thing you can do is get some photos of it on here before you fit it, even if it means borrowing someones camera.

Hi there if you are not sure, take your car to Subaru Specialist which will tell you if its genuine or just copy.

Yeah i know, but he will tell if its copy or no.

But mostly mappers will map your turbo anyway,if its genuine or no,i'm afraid.

Second i would advise you check for any movement(in and out, side to side),if you have near to you turbo specialist he will tell you exactly..

From what I've heard the eBay ones still make half decent power but don't last very long. I read somewhere of a guy using one, made 360ish but only lasted 3 months.
Before you get yourself all worked up get it checked out by a Subaru specialist. Anyone who knows whats what with Imprezas will know if it's a gooden or not buddy.

cheers mate you have all been very helpful oh and one more question ive seen some injectors at rite price but there 550s flowed by lateral performance to 990s would they be to big or would they be ok due to mapping the car in other words would they hurt the car if maped properly which it will be

990's are a bit overkill buddy. I use RCM 550's in mine but they were getting quite close to their limit while mapping at 390. I'm planning a meth mix soon so am going with 650's maybe and FPR.

I've got a cheapy eBay brand new tdo6 20g on my car. It cost me 300 and it didn't come from jaw warehouse place either. I was just going to use it for running in new engine. Ive ended up having it mapped as I'm waiting for an
Md321 t billet and they are still in development aparently. I've got laterals phase 2 flowed injectors that do arround 900cc and I've got my fuel pressure regulator. Mine made 430 bhp and 414lbft at 1.3 bar with 20% meth mix. Car ran an 11.6 at sso the other weekend so it cant be that bad. It's made the figures and drives well, how long it lasts is another matter, hopefully long enough till my 321 arrives! The only issue I had with it was the actuator had to be adjusted so there was lots of por load on it as the waste gate would flip right back and jam open. Other than that no issues to date

The TD06/20g and TD05/20g are different turbos though, as far as I'm aware anyway?

If its copy maybe will make power, but don't last long..

With these ebay turbos is problem are not properly balanced and on Nasioc is big thread about the eBay turbos, some last longer like other genuine, some just blown after 200 miles.

Here is this thread

Mat, I dont find it laggy at all. Mind u I'm on a 2.5 so that makes a diff. I've had the exhaust side ported as well on it to make it spool faster.
