Subaru car on the TT circuit
Apparently Subaru have set a new lap record for a car on the TT circuit with an average speed of 113mph (the bikes manage 131mph, lol).
Here's a picture taken by my mum at Ballaugh Bridge, a budding amateur photographer. Subaru had several photographers out on track and will be uploading pictures on their website tonight.
Pirelli made some special tyres for the car, which was fairly standard according to someone she was talking to. A tweak on the suspension and an exhaust remapped for race fuel. Not sure how accurate this info is though...

The car was mapped by our very own scoobynet member Engine mapper aka Graham.
I have been fortunate enough to have him map my cars.

I was just chatting with The Graham (engine mapper) It was just a practice lap, the car has been tweaked a bit but more or less standard, cracking picture.

good to see so many scooby fans at the TT. I saw him at union mills and he looked soooo impressive through there. As fast as the superbikes. 600cc Sidecar lap record is about 118MPH and the consensus before his lap was he would be nowhere near that, but after his lap my guess would be over 120. I dont see him getting anywhere near the 130 mark simply due to the gearing (max speed of 160mph against 200 on the superbikes). First lap of practice on closed roads at race speeds 113.5!!!!!. So impressive.

That sounds pukka! I don't really know too much about bikes so out of interest how would it compare to bikes in the wet I wonder?

A professional photographer has very kindly given permission to post a couple of his photos. I've left them full resolution so you can see all the detail.
