After some help please, my friend has a MY95 wrx and the car is refusing to start. The only code coming up is 31 ( Throttle position sensor ), would this really cause the car not to start?. When mine went all it did was cause the revs to fluctuate on idle and changing gear.

Any help would be appreciated

I've been round to have a look at the car and it seems the fuel pump is not working. There is no noise from the pump when you put the ignition on. Do these have a fuse or is it just a relay?, and would it just pack up??

jolly green monster give cel codes on their site,ive had fuel pumps just stop working on a couple of different cars but not in my subarus but im sure they would be the same.

 

Check that there is voltage to it. I think you can get to it if you remove the back seat swab

 

there is a plug under the rear seat base that corrodes and fails or it is the pump 99% of the time.
