Unhappy Last ever hawkeye STI SPEC C

This is the last ever hawkeye spec c and the new owner took delivery yesterday.

This is the 2nd white spec c on an 11 plate and both belong to Scoobynet members.

Surely these will be very sought after in the future.

All 10 snapped up and gone, first 5 went within a week..........these truely are iconic cars and have a great following.

And with it being the last it's a little extra special as I managed to swindle it into the PLG tax band.

Hopefully they will be as sought after or as collectible as a Sierra RS500 cosworth in time to come Immy.

I do feel what you mean. Knowing that they don't make cars like that anymore.

I do agree, certainly a stunning car in white. After having to deal with car traders and motor dealers in the last few weeks whilst selling my GB270 i fear these imprezas are an aquired taste. Values on imprezas have plummeted in the last year not helped by the **** poor service you get from main dealers after 2.5 engines developed a tendency to go bang.
I will buy another one day should i come into money but i think scooby ownership will be too expensive.

Amazing looking things but you'd think for that sort of money you'd at leats get center caps included for the wheels.

As much as that's a class car I really doubt they are sought after anywhere else other than the ever dwindling Subaru circles, they certainly aren't iconic and they definitely won't hold its value. Thinking that it will sit on the same pedestial as the likes of an RS500 is laughable really.

What does an Alfa have to do with a Subaru Impreza being a sought after/iconic car?

I didn't realise the JDM hawkeye of any model was continued through to 2011, or is the "manufacture" date of this car earlier than the registration date? I've seen some import cars in the past are on a plate "x" when in this country but were manufactured in the factory, one or even sometimes 2 year's earlier in their country of origin. Lovely piece of machinery though and one of the best colours (not quite as good as blue of course... joking.. white would have been my colour of choice but the only white hawkeyes I could find were JDM's and very pricey at the time).

Do you not think a big part of sales plummeting would be due to the introduction of the "hatch" body shape in 2008, which made Subaru lose a lot of loyal followers? I agree with you though, to top it off, like you say, many of the hatch 2.5 ltr also later did have problems, due to the change in ecu and rediculous map.

I also think many people are moving to more economical cars.

sadly tax, insurance and fuel are forcing many owners to throw the towel in. also, there are a hell of a lot of diesel power cars around now to make you smile at much less cost. to top it all off i heard on the radio yesterday the government are intending pushing through the "any car owned must have insurance, even if SORNed" if they go ahead with that then you will have even less people hanging on to just track them. fingers crossed it gets dropped again

Very nice, but will depreciate just like the rest of them do based on miles and condition, it's certainly not a collectors car special.

I'm sure the likes of Moley will be able to do enthusiast cover at a decent rate, especially if SORN'd...

Great looking car, I also don't understand why people knock the running costs of these cars as I don't know of any performance car at this level that would be a considerable amount cheaper to run, I believe evos are even worse, m3's can't be much different, maybe people knock the costs hoping they can get a bargain. In my opinion if you want a car of this type then you must be prepared for the running costs. Good cars will probably always be in demand.

just out of interest how long has the car been sitting around unregistered?
it must be a few years old as the hatch has been out ages. or did they still make the hawkeye at the same time as the hatch?
cant be good for a car sitting around for a long time unused.
that said it looks great!!!
