Default WRX vs STI?

what mods are there between the 2?
if the wrx was mapped and on coilovers what other major mods would there be?

apart from looks

i,m now lookin at gettin a bug for my new car and for the odd track day etc
so coilovers and a remap would be done.

what power can they both take?

or is there a link

thanks

Get yourself a bugeye sti, jdm model. They are cheap now anyway so no excuse to get a uk wrx.

The engine will take some good power, 400 all day long (with correct mods)

With the wrx you'll end up spending more than the sti cost getting it near the spec.

lol. The STi is called a "WRX STi" and although I got a WRX, I would rather have had an STi. Go for the STi, cheaper to mod in the long run bud!

What year car are you looking at getting?

couple of other main things sti has over wrx, a quicker steering rack, limited sliff diffs x2,stronger engine internals.both great cars. but 99% of peeps who buy wrx admit they wish they had have brough an sti to start with...me included.went from a bug wrx to a blob sti..difference could not be farther apart..power delivery is brutal throu the six speed box.handling well could put sti through same corners as i did with the wrx carrying about 10 mph more speed...the cars are totally different animals

I used to love these threads but the more I read the STI has over a WRX the more peeved I feel.

I know I've got my WRX up to STI straight line speeds but if I'd started with an STI I might just have beat that grandad in the GT2.

I went from a bugeye wrx that i modded to an sti cosmetically to a blobeye sti and the difference in speed and handling is like comparing night and day
Go for the sti all day long its worth the little extra outlay.

Similar straight line performance as a STD 265bhp sti as it has the ppp. Sti still has the edge but it doesn't suit everyone, they are both good cars built for different purposes. If you motivation is performance then the sti is the one to go for

Now your asking how long is a piece of string.

Jdm sti is another notch up the ladder.

As said do a search, then do lots of research and don't jump in and buy the first one you see come back and post a link and we will tell you what we think before you buy.

Jdm sti all the way, and if your budget will stretch jdm sti spec c is the place to be if it's a new age your after, if it's a classic then it's the sti type r, or the ra.
but you better know how to drive or you will soon come unstuck.

Nice one, sounds like you know what your doing ( apart from the evo bit that is)

6k should get you on the ladder but i would sell the evo and go for a jdm sti spec c 12k should see you in a very nice one running circa 400bhp.

Or just to put the cat amongst the pigeons, you would pick up a nice type r running about 400bhp for that sort of money which with the right suspension and brakes in the right hands will show the above a clean pair of heels, and is a more entertaining and involving drive.
