they didnt do a bad job with the mods
brembo brakes, exhaust, panel filter and remap which is what most do on here.
then they put stupid stripes on it although whoever brought it could remove them quite easily.
the stripes didnt look any worse than wrc stickers lol

My WRX has the prodrive sports cat, STI up pipe and decat centre, with 3" back from there - made 281bhp with JGM.
As for the 240 - what mods did they actually do? If you just change the backbox and panel filter you won't see muzch More than 250. IMHO.

You don't need a full decat on a newage for that power or more.

Mine made 248bhp with a green panel filter and cat-back 3" exhaust when it was first mapped. Looking back on it, I just wish I'd waited and bought the lot, but you live and learn!
They'd could also of course have changed the up pipe for a second hand STI one, would only have been about £30, so a little cheaper than a decat or sports cat down pipe!
Ultimately though, Mike Brewer knows very little about a lot of cars, like most of the top gear presenters; the show's cheesy and good for a laugh, but I have to agree that those viper stripes were bloody awful!
I did chuckle when I listened to him chatting so much crap about the car at the start!

It's something that annoys me a bit about car shows nowadays.
In the good old days, you had Tiff and Vicki who actually had racing experience and were capable drivers, then you had Quentin Wilson who bought and sold used cars (which is something I think really is missing from today's shows), and then Jezza for a laugh.
Today you have 3 lads behaving like teenagers in cars none of us can afford.
There was always an element of the latter sure, and yes it's arguably amusing to watch, but I think it's left a spot open for a factual car buying and reviewing programme as opposed to just messing around in cars. James May clearly understands the engineering side, the other two, well - they're just there to take the mick out of him I reckon!
Fifth gear at least had Jason Plato, Tiff and Vicki but sadly they were let down by numpties with no presenter skills who shouldn't ever have been let onto TV let alone a car programme - namely Jonny Smith and Tim Shaw.
Tom Ford was the exception to this as I found his reviews pretty good and his presenter style amusing, but sadly he left after 2009.
I hear the former stig, Ben Collins, has now also joined Fifth Gear as a presenter, although I haven't seen a recent one starring him yet. Will look forward to it, although I wish they'd get rid of that idiot Jonny Smith. The guy is about as rightly qualified to be a presenter as most MP's are to debate real life decisions

Haha this is true, but Hammond always makes me laugh - the guy clearly hasn't a clue about cars and just recites what he's given on a sheet.
