Stripping out a Blobeye?
My 03 JDM STI may be being retired to the role of weekend / special occasion plaything in the near future. As a result everyday practicality would no longer be a factor, and my thoughts have turned to weight reduction...
That being the case, has anyone got experience of stripping out a Blobeye? I'm assuming the main things to ditch would be the rear seats, sound proofing, carpets, air con, radio, etc, but does anyone know what kind of weight savings would likely be achieved from all this? Done a trawl of the threads but had no joy.
Any advice much appreciated!

electric windows. glass in the windows, door cards, front seats, ally bonnet and boot, suspension can all be replaced with lighter items. good luck with the sound proofing, it's a complete bastid.

Can help a bit. Removed all interior plastic trim, carpets, sound deadening, rear door cards etc and it weighed 62kg. Obviously seats will be a fair ammount but didn't weigh them.
Bit of advice on sound deadening, i removed from the boot, rear and driver and passenger side but it leaves holes everywhere which i've now sealed with helicopter tape. Annoyingly there's a hole just where your right heel sits, have a carbon insert now but in hindsight would leave that in.
Also lost a couple kg's from rear screen and going to a race battery, presume as yours is JDM it has lightened stuff already and maybe different?
Hope that helps
