Sti all day, much better base cars, 6 speed box etc. With the money spent on getting the GB270 to sti level you will wish you had spent the sti as you would end up with a better car imo

I flirted with a WRX for a while, but went straight back to an STI when the time came to change. Just better all round at the end of the day.

IMO of course.

Rather than see what fits others, try both yourself. GB270, particularly in wagon form, is rare and one of the most subtle quick Imprezas.
If you go STI, budget for a sport / decat remap, coilovers and uprated rear ARB as a starting point. The Hawkeye STI ( 2006 0n ) suspension is ridiculously bouncy.

I have a MY05 WRX PPP and have spent a fortune on converting it to a STi.

what do you plan to do with the car? If you plan to do any mods then get a STI if you want a fast road car and you dont plan track or mod then a WRX ppp is a very nice car. EVO said its a better car than a STI for everyday use. (lots low down power and long gears)

I have a 06 WRX and have spent a fortune making it a much better car than a STI

ive just sold my gb270 wagon after just over 3 years of owning.
the car is ultra rare and has been great to own and drive
a very nice every day stealth machine
only cost me £1800 per year in depreciation too
try them both and decide on your future plans

Hi Mikey,

WRX STI any day........trust me, I'm on my 7th and would never buy a WRX again, whatever mods it had. It can never be an STI

If you're keeping it standard, make sure you go for a JDM STI as opposed to a UK car, a far better car out of the box. Dump valve is not a particularly wise mod, can cause poor running as many have discovered to their cost.

I agree jdm sti is superb I have one but don't think everyone is the same some might find a uk sti or wrx a better daily driver. Think you need to view and test drive both but will say that the brakes and 6 speed box on the sti are worth the extra, only issue is the jdm sti is a much firmer ride than a wrx or gb270 and you may not like it as a daily drive

dump valve is a big no no.

drive them both, but the WRX could be the car for you,
