Hi guys, well after my rather extreme bad luck with my scoob im thinking about chucking in the towel. some of u may know me n my car already and the poor luck, well last few weeks ive been limping my car around as ive lost compression in 3 cylinders god only knows how its still be running, well finally saved the money to have it repair and last night on way home fom me mates gearbox let go in 3rd, i wasnt even givin it any at the time either

so now feeling extremely dis hearted after this being my 3rd box this year and still needing engine and lack of funds i ask u all what u reckon i can make back from my money on the following.

3" de cat ( not bellmouth )

3rd Box in a year??? Thats not bad luck, there is something up! Maybe its a case of "Do it right, do it once..." I would break it and start again.

I don't think Subaru's are for you fella. To go through 3 gearboxes is ridiculous, i ran 360/400 on my 5 speed box with no problem at all. I think you should buy a honda, they seem to take more punishment.

Unlucky with the engine yes.

To go through three boxes with I'm guessing 380 lb/ft is not bad luck it's always going to happen at some point, there are a few of us who have been lucky with these five speeds but the biggest majority fail drastically. to keep replacing like for like is a bit silly IMO.

yeah wish id go straight for 6 spd or a sti box, but could never afford it, and tbh they all been cheap boxs, so i havent dont myself ne favours, just feel dis hearted by my car atm.

Well like I said regarding the engine thats rotten luck. I've killed my fair share in the last two years.

But the boxes you can only blame your self TBH. Am I guessing this right you havent even been using STi boxes?

yeah ive been sing std uk 2000 box's and cheap ones at that, and yes mate a 6 speed will fit mine with the right bits

yes but it was my vf35 that killed the box's lol and my right foot n tight wallet
