I've only had mine about a month and it is identical, 53 plate and black. Your engine bay looks much cleaner!

I painted my wheels black on monday though!

Funny you should say that. I have had the resonated part of the exhaust replaced the other day with just a straight pipe to try gain abit more "scooby rumble". Didn't work as i thought it would. Sounds abit better!

Trouble with newage is the sound deadening is good and can be quiet inside but still sound the dogs from outside, my jdm with genome is quiet to me but I am told I can be heard well before I get to my destination. A straight through centre pipe is a good first mod though as well as sounding good you get rid of the steel part of the exhaust so shouldn't have any worries with blowing in the future. Another subtle mod is silver bulbs in the rear indicators cheap and cleans it up. Front Detango also good but as I am jdm this is already done. I also like the red hazard switch on the dash and a front splitter. I also rate my Godspeed 2 piece front discs. The list is endless once you start but it's worth it.

Cheers for that mate, i think i agree with it been much quieter inside. sounds nice from the outside on tick over and a little rev. will have to get someone to drive it for me to see what it really sounds like i guess.
I was going to look into changing the second cat for a sports or decat! but read you have to get a remap when you do anything with these so i will see about that one. Silver bulbs and detango is a must really. I would really like the splitter too, I think you can read my mind pal

Thats a lovely looking example. If you want the burble from the exhaust, then you need to get a new back box. I used to have a WRX PPP, so it had a Prodrive silencer on it, making a proper burble. When I got my MY05 STI 6 weeks ago, I was shocked to discover the standard exhaust was so quiet.

Maybe the manufacturer intended the cars to be quiet and we chavs have created mobile ASBO's.

Anyhow, I think the community have created a signature feature of these cars. You must have the burble to compliment the Boxer Flat 4.

Nice one, thanks.

Just to clarify, it's the 581 Philips silver vision indicator bulbs?
