Default VERSION 9 OR NOT??

Hi all, i am a new member to this excelent site and would like some expert help. I owned a very nice version 6 classic STI a few years ago and am now looking for another Impreza. I am looking at a crystal grey version 9 tomorrow which is on a 54 plate. It has the revised dash, DCCD, and version 9 wheels. The date of first reg is 27 Oct 2004. Can this definitely be a version 9 on a 54 plate as i have only ever seen them on an 05 onwards. When was the version 9 released? Also the first owner was Jan 05. Is this a bit odd??? Demonstrator model maybe?? Thanks in advance, Jim.

My widetrack Jdm Blobeye Sti is on a 54 plate. The 05 model year started on 54 plates. Someone will probally be along soon to explain in more detail. Steve.

No such thing as version nine. When the new age was released it became a Model Year designation. Therefore the car you're looking at is a MY04 with the wider track and revised interior so effectively a MY05. It could have been a dealer demo model as you suspect.

It's a MY05 the car your looking at they started from August 2004 so you can also get one on an 04 plate.

Is it a JDM your looking at or a UK spec?

It's a UK spec. All seems to be right. Best to check first i thought.

Must agree with you I was so glad I waited for mine to turn up almost bought a uk car due to length of time I was looking, I always thought my04 was v9 and my05 was v10 but much easier to go by model year as gets confusing

It doesn't have a "version"..........they stopped at the version 6 (classic).

Euro import, the A-DCCD was an optional extra, they fitted it as standard on UK cars but added the 1k extra to the cost...
