Default Painful drive

Picked my blob back up from API yesterday after having a 2.1 rebuild. Had to cover 210 miles to get home and keep under 3k revs. Kept off the M6 so took the A roads, and worked out my average speed was 38.5 mph !!! No wonder the day dragged so much.
Also, only saw 1 other scoob out and about (shared a flash and wave), where was everyone??
John.

2.1 is a good choice what prompted the rebuild?

John, 4000 rpm is OK - 3000 is too low. Get some energy into the engine to bed the rings in otherwise there is a chance that you might polish the bores and suffer oil consumption.

No foot in the floor stuff but 1/2 to 3/4 accelerator up to 4000 rpm is OK by me. Just keep an eye on the oil level as it beds in.

Call me if anything feels adrift, or worries you.

Thanks for your custom, See you in 1000 miles [ ish ]

Just the normal det damage that we see regularly. Most ' normal ' garages diagnose turbo failure, as did john1979's at first. Those of us that tune Scoobs know better. It can be turbo failure, but rarely is.

When I bought my scooby and had to run it in for 1000 miles was hard. Just kept doing a big loop as Cyprus ain't that big. Am planning a rebuild for next year and will probably nip upto Elgin (scotland) to see some mates. From Plymouth and back should run it in nicely. Abit of motorway mixed in with A and B roads. Roll on the REDBULL!!!
