Default TRUE CLASSIC VALUES?

Hi all. With regard to prices for older cars, whats fair price?
Thinking of selling my 98 sti, but looking around various sites leaves me with no idea on how to price it!
Anything from 2k-4k for similar cars so what would fair price be?
Mine is jdm import from brand new, and Graham Goode tuned to approx 320bhp from a few months old. 96000 miles now but API rebuild with forged pistons in december 2007. Good condition throughout including mechanically. Fantastic drive but time to change for me, so any advice on value would be appreciated. Dont want to price it too cheap and get muppets wasting my time, nor too expensive and get no interest either. Thanks in advance

If it's been in the UK since new and you've got plenty of history that will improve the price. If it's been undersealed and looked after even better. If it's been left to the elements for 13 years with no protection and showing signs of rust then not so good.

If it's completely standard that would also help (cosmetically at least) did it have a UK fuel map when new or when rebuilt? That would help too. Colour might be a factor.

Pics also help

I tried to put pics on here when selling my blobeye a couple of years ago and wasnt successful! Its totally standard looking in silver apart from rear light change. Mods that i know are; full GGR stainless exhaust with sportcat, induction kit, GGR direct water injection, and i would imagine mapping to suit. Gauge pod, grooved discs and braided lines. Not sure if anything else but Graham Goode Racing still have computer records so will try to find out rest. Just after a guide price peeps.

sounds around what i thought from various sites i looked at. doesnt even cover the cost of rebuild, but i reckon about right for what it is.
next step is to learn about putting pics on web and sort an advert i guess!

Daft seeing as you have no idea what condition it's in. Condition sells these cars now... 2 examlples, same model, same year, same mileage can differ by as much as £2K or more due to the condition.

as mentioned earlier, car is in good all round condition given its a 1998. not perfect but very presentable with minor bubbling to rear arch which seems to be first point for most cars. hoping to get this sorted before putting advert up. other than that, very nice and standard looking. thanks for all input guys.

f1 fan has a point ..... it's impossible to give a price on a 1998 car without knowing LOTS about it.

History, how many owners, true condition, running order, interior, MOT, Tax, modified or completely standard?

Add to that the current market conditions and it's a minefield trying to offer advice on price ..... these cars sell on condition and history - and. more importantly, on whether anyone at all wants it.

It could be worthless, it could be worth £3500 ..... only a willing and able buyer will state what it's worth.

finally a normal person yes he does have a point but the op asked a question and didnt get an answer,i answerd on the information supplied in his post,it was and is that simple it goes without saying that if the car is junk then its not worth anything, the op has been a member for quite some time although not very active so im sure he would of said if it was a junker,im not here to argue with any1 only give my opinion based on a few years in the trade, ive got nothing against others giving there opinion either but if all they are doing is tagging on the end of other peoples posts without giving anything constructive to the thread saying yeah but what if? then there idiots
