A-plan do an insurance policy to cover the excess aswell so you could get a quote with a big excess, then take out the 'excess cover' policy which essentially allows you to reclaim all of your excess so overall works out cheaper!

i mentioned on here ages ago that a broker i work for sells an excess insurance policy which pays your £500 excess twice in 12 months if you make a claim
the policy is £50 per year potentially saving you £1000
Zero same here im with a plan 50 quid extra but still 200 quid cheaper than last years quote woo and also a lot less interest with monthly payments than last year
This £50 stuff is to make more money from you. Ive never had a claim on insurance. Driving 27 years so i would have spent an extra £1350. Or you like ive saved £1350 so could still have 2 claims and be £350 up

ain't that what insurance is for that's like sayin if i never insured my car for x amount of years wud have saved x its extra peace of mind for a quid a week still think its a no brainer but everyone is diff maybe its not for all but makes sense to me
I agree. Buts its a legal requirment to have insurance. So paying is a must. I just feel if people are insuring the excess on there insurance they must be driving around believing there gonna have an accident.
Lol knew i shud have used a diff example ie extended warranty etc but with more and more cars on our roads some driven badly its well worth a quid a week in my eyes

Do you protect your NCB?
I agree with what you're saying, but 95% of people i speak to still choose to pay the extra to procect their NCB, which based on your theory is chucking money away aswell.
