Thanks for the emails guys. I finally received an email from my supplier in Singapore, who is now dealing in these cars, and the mods.

The costs are going to be pretty much what I thought, which is around £15-17, inc the shipping. But Fed-ex rates seem to be changing on a daily basis, but the final price will be in there somewhere.

They come in 4 different frquencies, but a frquency changer is availble, which can allow up to 7 to race.

It's the list of upgrades that's stunning though. I've received the horrendously large files, but I'm trying to find a way of making it viewable (tooooo big). However, Mods fall into the following categories:-

1) Relay circuit (Speed up)
2) Turbo upgrade for item 1)
3) Twin turbo upgarde for item 1)
4) Relay circuit with Turbo (Additional switch for turbo toggling)
5) Relay circuit with Twin turbo
6) Super bright HID front lights
7) Brake lights
8) Signal Lights
9) Item 6,7,8 set.
10) Remote horn (Once installed cannot upgrade to turbo)
11) Turning Speed controller (Reduce speed when turning)
12) Gear Box set (Shaft,gears(3 different gear ratios),gear box & bearings)
13) Wheel set (All neccesary parts except tyres)
14) Frequency change kit

Anyway. What I need to know is how many of you are prepared to confirm their interest. I need to get around 20 or so orders to make it viable.

I'll leave it until the end of the week before deciding what to do.

Bravo,

I know of a couple of suppliers in the UK. To be honest, the manufacturers of our battery powered mobile phone chargers also do some distribution, and have offered me these. As people seemed interested, I thought I'd get a 'sample' order off them, although since I don't have the outlets, it's probably not worth my bringing over a large quantity. The price I've been offered is very good indeed, but it's the shipping of small quantities that's proving expensive. However, I should have no problems getting the mods for you. If you mail me off-line, I can email over the list of motors available.

Phil,

These are 32nd scale r/c cars, with too long a list of mods to even start describing them.

This site has a bit about them:- http://www.frenetic.com.au/shop/category94_1.htm

Question

Josh

Are these the cars that come in a tin with the remote control in the lid? If so I think they were demo'd in the city centre a few months back outside Virgin.

They looked very nice.

Question

Does anyone know how long you get out of a charge?

The wife bought me a couple of R/C Mini Cars 3 years ago, just like these, they didnt hold much more than 2 minutes charge.

Not wishing to p1ss on the party - but I would check the running times .............. it may have already been addressed however

Talking

You wetting your knickers Bravo??

I take it they charge from the controller?? and dont actually have a battery in the car itself??

If so, it is charging up a capacitor I would imagine and has little running time - just a thought my man!!

Hope the lady is ok?? bit off topic but wish her well would you?

Right, I've had another chat with my fella in Singapore, and I should now be able to answer some of the questions.

1. They 1:32 scale AA powered cars.
2. Hopefully they'll be as low as £15, depending on VAT/Duty, but allow for up to £17.50.
3. Mods vary in price quite dramatically, and some of them are actually 50% more than the cost of the car. However, you can end up with a car that does 35-40 kph. Bear in mind that you will need basic soldering skills to fit the upgrades, although the suppliers are going to offer ready made upgraded cars.
4. Some mods will not be available in the UK initially, as the model shops won't want to carry everything and, as I said, some are quite expensive.
5. I can get stock in a week or so.

It would appear that there's enough interest for me to bring in a batch of 24, but I need evryone to confirm what they want before I order. Please email your order to me at josh@qlsltd.com. We should be able to accept payment by credit/debit cards, as we'll put it all through the mobile phone charger business.

Good news on the shipping. They got the price slightly wrong, so we should be looking at nearer £15 than £17.

Bravo,

The list of possible mods is endless. If you mail me (josh@qlsltd.com) with what you want I'll get you a quote. I don't want to hold up the whole order for a couple of cars, so if you could do this ASAP it would be appreciated.

Adam mate

If you didn't eat for three days, you could probably buy a REAL 22b not a model
