Ever come across a car you used to own on the road?
Frequently wonder what happened to cars I owned in the past.
Know some of them have been scrapped.
Lancia MonteCarlo I owned mid eighties is on a SORN somewhere
Porsche my wife wrote off mid nineties is taxed/insured so has been repaired and still running
Replacement Porsche turbo we had ten to five years ago has been exported
seems to me that when I sell a car it is the last time I see it. Never seen one of my previous cars actually on the road. Must be a weird feeling

I was driving along the motorway a few months ago in my 555 and as I passed a guy in a golf he was smiling and pointing at me, he came back alongside me with his window down and shouted "that's my old car"
We stopped at the next services for a chat and he was the first UK owner of it 10 years ago and sold it a few years ago with the head gasket gone and was glad to see it back on the road again

I had a Calibra in 2001 that some guy started chatting to me and said that it had a rear end bump
My first car, a Renault 19 16v Chamade, I part ex'd it for the Calibra 30miles away and saw it about 5 years ago in a local pub carpark, looked battered, missing fuel cap and bodywork was dented all over! It was mint when I had it!
Unfortunately I see my old Blob STi quite a bit and only today I heard he's blown the turbo. His fault completely as whenever I've seen him he's got the AntiLag on!!

My Dad was showing his Escort RS2000 up at the MPH show and a guy came over asking who's car it was as he owned it in the 80's! Showed my Dad some pictures and explained exactly what he did to his wife in the back seat of it.
Yeah.. ain't always good

Saw my old man's 1886 911 Supersports on a owner's club stand at the classic car show at the NEC. Had a different plate but recognised as it still has the stone chip in the same places and Kenwood component speakers. Plus Supersports in good nick are rare as rocking horse poo.
Spoke to the guy and he said he thought it had been in a front-ender due to some repair work to the inner wing, we put his mind at rest as it was actually acid damage caused by the battery boiling over/splitting which leaked acid all over the place when the alternator failed and overcharged the battery.
Still see my old scooby as my mate owns it. In a bit of a state now though as he rarely cleans/waxes it and keeps it outside in all weathers and never washes off the road salt from underneath.

My first 306 GTI-6 in silver, sold it back in 98, saw it in 2007ish, its moved from Manchester to Slough, it was one of those "oh I use to own a silver one, oh and it was a P reg, oh and it started P616.... oh it is my old one ", anyway I had a chat with the owner, he didnt HPI it otherwise he would have known it was a cat c, oooops.
Asked him if it still vibrated around 75mph and he said yes and its still on the road somewhere...
Ran into my old Spec C several months back accidentally, that went to Litchfields then up to scotland now thats back in manchester

Also saw my NSX on pistonheads a month ago...some trader was selling it for some stupid amount, probably still for sale, I'll check.....
edit: Yup: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3033690.htm
He'll never get £28K for it even though it is relatively mint for its age (it was pretty much concours when I sold it for £22K ish ).
and the interior is not unmarked - drivers seat has wear on the outer edge, but I repaired it with some leather paint, look very closely and you'll see it

I dreamt I saw my "old" car and woke up a bit stressed at the thought it had been stolen, then remembered it had gone two years earlier to be replaced by my "Catalunya"...
A month later my boss sent me down to Basingstoke, ( from way Opp North in Beverley ). So off I went, and as I got near to the building site I saw my old green Mazda 323F coming the other way exactly is I had dreamt it would happen !

I always used to see my 1st car as I sold it to a young local lad I knew, it was a 1.6 fiesta si with cosworth bumpers, rst sideskirts and arches, and replica wheels dropped on it's *** on spax shox n springs. It was a great drive and I loved it
Also see another of my old cars, it was my introduction to scoobies and was a 98 sport in silver. I'd put an afterburner vortex on it, a cold air induction kit and a borla unequal length manifold. The manifold was a great buy and really did give it that flat four burble usually reserved for turbo owners..... again, I loved it
The girl that bought it has put some 18's on it, an sti6 spoiler and some lexus lights. It looks pretty nice bar the lexus lights but she aint got the borla anymore 'cos I sold it before she bought it lol

My old dad bought a brand new "K" registered Ford Capri 1600XL in 1972 and sold it a couple of years later to buy another new something or other.
Anyway, in about 1986/7 after we'd long moved away from the house where he had owed this car, this Capri turned up completely out of the blue at our new next door neighbours house and had been bought by the neighbours nephew a few weeks earlier, who was a Capri enthusiast, apparently and he was very pleased to meet the original owner.
