i have an 99 wrx and am looking for a power upgrade.
im thinking of a larger turbo can anyone recommend me one.
my current mods are miltek cat back exhaust and green panel filter and my car has the ppp fitted so has one cat removed and uprated fuel pump i believe, please correct me if im wrong.

i dont want to decat the car as i use it daily and dont want any trouble mot time.

also what supporting mods are recommended with the turbo and some idea of costs.

im not chasing figures etc just looking for reliable power but hoping to get near 380 ish.

my current non engine related mods are ap racing 6 pots on the front with bc coilovers,whiteline arbs with anti lift kit.
also due to the imminent power upgrades i have had an exedy pink box clutch and lightweight flywheel fitted to avoid problems further on down the line.

on reading a lot of threads it looks like i have upgraded my car backwards to everyone else, brakes and suspension first then power, before someone slates me for this there is a reason.
when i was a nipper i used to read max power (many moons ago) and decided with me and my mates mechanical skills albeit limited we would put a red top calibra turbo engine and six speed box in a nova, all went well.
then on a spirited drive it all became clear that ****ty nova 1.2 shocks, milkbottle top front brakes,drum rears and no abs cant handle 250 bhp. and the nova was promptly in the nearest hedge.
so from them on i upgrade the brakes/shocks first!

sc36, sc42 or sc46, also worth a front mount as well

 

vf43 or vf48 and a good mapper will push you a fair way. IMO
