Apparently, anyway. Motorpoint (Derby) has an advert in today's Autocar, and I had a quick shuftie to see if they were still trying to shift '01 WRXs for £17995. Yes, indeed, they are, but below the WRX it stood out a mile: STI, £20,995. Now this could be a misprint, since it says 'Saving £4000' afterwards, but Motorpoint tend to advertise cars in stock, so this could be a good cheap way into a new STI.

I haven't researched it at all though - no idea where the car might be sourced from, whether it's Type-UK etc.

I couldn't find it on their site - it's not in stock anyway, as far as I can see. Are you a member, mrdeli?

Well, acording to their site, they have 7 Blue STI's and one Black going for £20,999.

I assume that this includes Registration, possibly tax but not Alarm or Tracker.

If you add these on, that's about £21,800 ish which is still an extremely good price!!!!!

Matt

P.S. Yes you do have to be a member to see the stock but you only have to fill in about 3 boxes so it's no biggie

Here's the full quote I got:
Vehicle SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI 4 DOOR SALOON
Colour MICA BLUE Gearbox MANUAL
Reg New Mileage Delivery Miles
Additions Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm at £399
Valeting Charge at £52.88

Total Price £ 21450.88 (excludes road tax at applicable rate and £25 DVLA first reg fee)
Total cost is therefore £21635.88 including road tax (£160?) and the £25 registration fee.

Personally I think the valeting fee for a brand new car is just plain cheeky - almost as bad as being charged for screenwash at every service

It's still a terrific price, though - I wonder where they're sourced from? Warranty? English manuals?

A.

Why do you hope they are not from cyprus???
Cypriot cars have an advantage that their ECU's are maped for 95 Ron fuel! Cars that come to uk directly from Japan as you know are mapped for 100 Ron! So in my eyes Cypriot cars are not that bad! Out of interest, why do you hope that they are not from Cyprus!

Cypriot cars are not fully undersealed to uk specification

Is that a good enough reason

Gez,

As per Gregarious. Motorpoint had some very cheap MY01s that had come from Cyprus. Cyprus are outside the EU so there are complications with spec & warranty.
