The day Bitten Hero became... well, just plain Richard again...

Hello all
As many of you will have seen in the press in the last 24 hours, Jordan are making around 20% of the workforce redundant - i.e. 50 people. The team is being 'slimmed' down to the bare minimum, quite simply due to our poor performance in the championship this year and a lack of money coming in from sponsors.
Unfortunately, the work I've been doing has not been critical to current work on the car - it was expected to be important for next year's car - and consequently I'm one of those who's been made redundant . As part of this (confidentiality issues) I have to leave immediately and will be on 'gardening leave' from tomorrow onwards, which will at least give me time to concentrate on looking for another job (which is unlikely to be in F1).
Still, I've been privileged to work there, and hopefully one day I'll be back!
Richard

Sorry to hear the news. Thanks for all the hard work you put in, in arranging the factory tour/karting etc earlier on in the year.
I'm sure with your experience it's only a matter of time before one of the other motorsport teams picks you up.

Thanks for the support, and thanks for the nice e-mails from people too...
I'm pushing for another F1 job, so I'll let you know when I get one sorted (really need a fingers crossed smiley here! )

Richard, really very sorry to hear that.
I guess we all knew something had to happen at EJ's. Murphy's Law that is had to be you (while not forgetting the other 49). Jordan seems to be lost in its own wilderness right now.
Best of luck, mate. A Bitten Hero indeed.
Richard.

Gutted mate I know that there are quite a few people on this board who would love to work for an F1 team (myself included). At least you can actually say you have. Best of luck with the job search I'm sure you'll be OK.
Cheers

Richard,
What can I say that hasn't already been said?
Very best of luck in finding the job that you really want either in or out of F1.
Make sure you come over to a meet shortly so that we can commiserate in person.
Hugh
