Dump Valve

Dump Valve
Yes I know there are a million and one posts on this but I want to ditch the Bailey cheap (and unnecessarily noisy IMHO) dump valve.
I have been searching but can only find aftermarket upgrades.
A) Are any of these actually any good ?
B) Where can I get a standard replacement for a 1999 classic (not second hand) ?
C) Is it easy to replace ?
All the best,
Jeff

Also I will be going for high bhp and notice most have "Direct replacement for the original item that is bolted to the intercooler" which is no good I suppose as I have got a Front Mounted Intercooler.
Or will the remap fix any issues that I'm getting next week, can live with noise if it saves me some cash...

You can get aftermarket recirculating dump valves such as forge which won't give you the loud 'psshh' noise, forge are normally reliable. Alternatively you can reuse a standard dump valve but relocate it using different hoses - see project thread by Shaun for how this is done. No need to buy a new standard one it's a waste of money IMHO

When you say you are going to go for big bhp, HOW big?
You need to think about it carefully.....start with how many miles has the car done? Will it TAKE big bhp
Will you be replacing/forging the engine/bottom end?
Do you know that up to 350bhp, a TMIC will be OK, but much above that, you'll need to go FMIC?
You can still use a recirc d/v with a FMIC, I do, mine is a Forge.
AVOID BAILEY D/V's AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!
You ought to be able to ditch the present Baileys gash at low cost by buying a replacement standard recirculating valve from a scrappers.

Well I can't avoid Bailey as it was already on car when I bought it.
I'm hoping remap will sort.
All replacements I have seen state "Direct replacement for the original item that is bolted to the intercooler" which is no good as I have got a Front Mounted Intercooler.
Any links to products would be appreciated.

How does yours fit?
I have FMIC, and mine uses a Forge replacement for the OE recirculating type, supplied by Bob Rawle.
It vents into the intercooler pipe feeding the throttle.

No idea I'm afraid, look like its fitted well though. Will get Simon / Jolly Green Monster to check it all out when remapping next week.
