Default NUR SPEC S and R

I was just wondering if there was any difference between the 2 of them in terms of sound. I have been told they are the same back box, but the S just has a 2.5" flange. Is this true.

The R is 97DB with baffle inserted.. think its around 108DB with it removed.
The S is 97DB - no baffle

Be warned.. The R is loud.. I've got one on mine and it can get a bit much. Especially with no cats!

Ok thanks mate. I only have a sports cat in mine so that might make it a bit quiter.

Its a personal thing, but i drove a Scoob the other day with the R spec system and it was just toooooo much for me..i couldnt hear that lovely engine due to the racket...imho it sounded like a kids saxo...it was unbearable to my ears, even at 30...no offence to anyone whose got this system-it just my personal take.

The difference is what you have already mentioned, the 2.5 tapered flange. The 'R is for a 3" centre section the 'S for a 2.5.

Has nothing to do with the sound/noise.

I have the S mated to a H&S straight through centre pipe. It sounds awesome, nice and bassy

I have the 'S' back box connected to the standard 2.5 inch STi centre (still with the resonator) then a Prodrive Sports CAT and it's as loud as I would want it.

The 'R' isn't just the back box, it comes with a 3 inch centre section (with no resonator) before going down to the standard 2.5 inch. That's what makes it louder.

Well thanks for all the advice and opinions guys. I think I will look into trying to get a
Nur spec r as really want the car loud. Its not a day to day car for me so I think I could
Live with it at the weekends. I even thought about getting an afterburner vortex extreme
Or rcm team ice.
