Yeah possibly mate, might be worth checking turbo gaskets and piping etc,
0.5 bar yes would be 8psi thereabouts, if i remember rightly 14psi is 1 bar.
Has it been remapped at all? ideally it would want to be with your exhaust and induction, to account for the restrictions youve freed up with it, i think they can cause the cars to run lean.

.5/.6 bar is like limp mode, definately not correct, uk cars run around .9 bar, would suspect you have an issue (boost leak, bad mods etc) you need to sort out, you should be running around 1 bar for sure.

No its not, your looking at around .9-1bar, fuel cut is around 1.2bar i think for your ecu, so you need to find out what the issue is, either ecu related (its gone into limp mode) or you have a boost leak (wouldnt surprise me, 18-19 year old car, perished rubber).
Finding it is the hard bit
Try getting any codes off the ecu, go check out scoobypedia for that (reading ecu codes).

OEM boost target = 0.79bar (11.6psig) on a 240PS MY93/94 WRX.
Prob 0.89bar (13psig) - can't quite remember - on a 260PS MY95/96 WRX.

If you fit a MBC (bypassing the BCS and the ECU's safety features!), then you can prob go for 0.2bar over stock - so about 1.0-1.1bar. But if you do this, please ensure you get the AFRs checked out on a rolling road and that no det is occurring.

* Major Sarcasm is a poster on here who sells the chips. It just needs soldering into the dedicated spare socket in the ECU and the "J1" resisitor wire cut.
* If the "two lines" represent 0.1bar each, then that would be 0.7bar - a bit low I think.
As I said, I think a MY95/96 WRX (260PS) is around 0.89bar. But it depends on how accurate your gauge is too...
Do you have a mate with a known good gauge that you can temp. use, just to see if there is any difference between them...?

Mmm, this is not right. Your cooling fans should not be switching themselves on/off when IGN is switched on (engine not running)... Does your engine management light come on when you switch the IGN on & go out when you start the engine?
