jdms have an auto spray version which sprays at certain temps.
uk is manual version and spray only when pressed.
it seems to make no difference whatsoever on my car, but others may tell you different

Fab question
I think mine is confused auto or i have a very small leak but uk car and i have to fii up quite regular but dont push the button that much only when "out playing" and dont think i have pushed button enough to empty it. So it must be feeding itself somehow.

if you have a uk car it will not be an auto version, i would check under the tank for leaks as it will rot the boot floor out if it is leaking.

From: 1600cc's of twin scroll fun :)
JDM's have auto/manual buttons and the auto function is controlled by the ecu at inlet temp/boost/revs etc (this option is only available on JDM STI ecu's ), the UK car one is just pretty much for show, not really needed tbh.
Lisa, sounds like a leak, check the pipework from the tank to start with, then run the tank low if you cannot see it, mark the water level with a water soluable pen (not perm marker) to see if it is leaking

I'm not keen on leaving it on auto very much as I can empty the tank in one spirited drive.
My old Evo was even worse as it was always on auto, and it shared the same tank as the screen wash.It didn't spray itself quite as often because the intake temps were always low,but last winter on more than one occasion I ran out of screen wash while playing in the snow.

I had it on my Type R, I can't say I ever noticed a difference with it but set to auto it would come on when the engine was warm and like others have said could quickly empty the tank.
