Ok went to car this morning pretty smoggy out, pressed the button and heard a nasty screaming under hood, a bit like if you hold the button too long, Can didnt start

I stopped it and did it again car started.,

tested 10 times car was ok

any ideas was this a 1 off ? or signs of things to come with a dodgy starter motor, any belts that can slip or suchlike ?

Don't think I would mess about with a 2011 car, I'd get it back to the dealer to take a look.

Maybe a slipping Alt or P/S pump belt in the damp conditions.

sounds like thes starter didnt engage properly on the flywheel. I shouldnt worry unless it happens again. mine is a 2002 and has done it 2 or 3 times in the 8 years ive had it
