Impreza Gauges
Hi, my names Tom and im new on this forum . I have a 2004 impreza blobeye in mint condition and im now ready to have some gauges fitted . Have seen the full kit on scoobyworld site for £295 including fittings and pod. How much would i expect to pay for a proffesional to install it for me (gauges are boost oil temp and oil pressure.)Have loads more things to ask but will start with this. Thanks.

impreza gauges
thanks for the replys so quickly. Unfortunatly i have no patience and not a great deal of mechanical knowledge apart from the basics. Also i work seven days a week so finding the time to do these things is impossible. Given my dad enjoys driving the car , he can drop it off for me for work to be done on it so thats why i was wondering how much it would cost to have them fitted .Cheers.

the boost is simple,
oil pressure and temp
you can use a sandwich plate that sits between oil filter and engine which is the easiest method as it only requires removal of oil filter, but i was told that thius method isnt as accurate.
the other method is a but harder but worth the effort.
oil pressure is under the alternator, which you need to move and its just screw in.
oil temperature, there is a blanking plug on the top on cylinder 3, which needs to be unscrewed, this involves removing the intercooler and its really hard to reach even then and extremely tight to undo.
if you are not mechanically minded its probably worth the money to fit.

I love the idea of the imaginary scenario of the OP plus dad, best mate and workmate all in the same car and then getting pulled by the fuzz... Cue copper asking everyones name in turn.... He'd bloody come down on 'em like a tonne of bricks for 'wasting police time' lol

Going off topic for a mo, I remember as a lad a copper asked a friend for his name, he replied 'Dean Atrell'. The copper asked him again, with the same answer. Said Rozzer gets the nark big time by now and accuses him of trying to take the pee out of him. Mate tells him again. I then realised what the copper was on about. He thought he was calling himself 'The Natural', like a boxers nickname!!!

Tis` correct as the sandwich plate is at the bottom of the car as as such does not give the correct temperature reading,
It should be between £100-£150 for a garage that knows what they are doing, Not like the guy that got charged £900 or whatever is was a while back(An old post)
Gaz.

Tom: your car already HAS adumpvalve, it's an OE recirculating one which is best for the car until you start running big power.
Mine is now running 400 or so, with an FMIC. It still has a recirculating valve, but the OE plastic one that was on mine, (yours will be metal, later model), is replaced by a Forge in alloy. It vents into the inlet tract.
With a huge cone filter, (I'm ruunning a LINK ecu, so MAf-less), it's easy loud enough.
Money is certainly better spent on other stuff.
