Default GG8 Bug-Eye STi Wagon - £7.5K

These cars are super rare. I've been keeping a close eye out for the past couple of years and have only seen one for sale (which was badly serviced so didn't go for it)

SVA Imports can get a low miler example in from Japan, but the weak pound means it'll sting me £7.5K

Is that just too strong on the money?

That's an awful lot of money buddy, depends how nice the car is and how badly you want one. Just be prepared for a big loss come sale time.

Sure someone on here had a blue one for sale earlier in the year. Was nowhere near 7.5K though, 4 something from memory

It is alot of money but think of it as a mint 4K WRX with a 2K gearbox, £1k of Turbo and Brembos etc in it

If you can get a high grade auction import in white or red, something unusual, I reckon that's a not an unreasonable price for a car you simply can't buy any other way

Didn't come with brembo's as standard but if it's in White and you can do a deal on it, go for it

What would possibly constitute 'a deal'

You got Brembos on the wagon ?

I'd pay £7,5k for a minty fresh import

If you pay £7500 for a bug STI wagon then the dealer will be laughing all the way to the bank....
Far far to much money in my opinion. You only got to look around at what £7500 can buy you now.
But like I said above, if you really really want one and are prepared for the big hit come sale time then go for it. Got to be a white one though surely..

Will he though? I don't think there's a fat lot of margin in importing Japanese cars with the currency exchange rate being what is is.

I know what's around for that kinda money, but it's only the STi wagon which will make me happy

Trick is, don't sell it FACT you can't buy one, so what you gonna do £7.5k is peanuts in Impreza money IMHO If it's as good as some of the imports I have seen then it's better than buying private UK thats for sure

You're not going to be satisfied with anything else. Knowing your penchant for wagons I would say if it's a minter get it bought. These don't come up for sale often and the mix of peformance and practicality is unbeatable.

Lol

I'd probably sell my white sti bugeye wagon for £7500! Or would I

It's too much money but it's simple supply and demand. Most won't understand paying a premium for an sti wagon when a saloon would be £5k, but people that want a wagon and want an sti do understand. I was willing to pay that sort of money for one (as long as it was nice) I knew I could buy a saloon cheaper but I didn't want a saloon. There's not exactly a lot of them about, especially not decent ones. I'm actually suprised it was that 'cheap' from sva imports, they are pretty pricey. I actually contacted them to source me one and someone offered me one when I had my evo up for sale.

I think they're worth a premium over the saloon because there's always a wagon lover that knows the ultimate wagon exists.

I looked for ages to find one, even when they came up they'd be tatty, too high mileage or strange bodykit parts added. Mine dropped into my lap. I hardly use it but it's very special to me when I do use it.

I've had many PM's on here since I've owned it, I think 5 or 6 different people (some more than once) have asked if it's for sale. My mate 'wants it when I sell it' and the previous owner has emailed me twice since selling it asking for 1st dibs if/when I sell it.

Relatively easy to build a copy, to a better spec from a UK wagon...

Given how cheap a bugeye wagon is currently.

Isn't an STi almost totally different to a WRX though Dunx? Driveshafts, brakes, diff's... I'm guessing now. The STi is surely such a better synergised car...?

Not really,if you are comparing mine JDM WRX which has been similar to STi wagon(minus 6speed,in mine has been fitted 4EAT tiptronic box),suspension has been same like in STi wagon,OE 4pots,JDM Hid lights etc.

Original JDM STi wagon, has been with OE 4pots not Brembo as JDM STi has been too with OE 4pots,What i know and i've seen JDM STi wagon, one guy which sold STi wagon has been equipped with 6 speed DCCD box,Brembo,JDM Hid lights,STi shocks etc.

£7.5k for STi wagon is lot,but if its worth i would say yes.

But it is still a copy.
Not an original. Anyone can build a copy.
Not many have an original
