Off to the pod, any advice ?
Well I'm off to the pod tomorrow to see what the old girl can do. Weather looks like it's gonna be another scorcher so aiming to get there pretty early. Have not run this car at the pod before and a little dubious as the last time I ran a car there the clutch **** itself.
Gonna go fairly steady off the line as I really want to be able to drive it home.
So, any advice for a good run ?
What about tyre pressures, keep as normal or any tips for shaving the odd tenth off, lol.
Expecting to see low 13's I reckon but think I could clip the 12's with a brave launch (if I dare ofcourse, which I probably won't). Car is running just shy of 400 so 13's should be a given,,, surely ?
Thanks,
Matt.

Yea classic fella. Hoping to get there early to miss the heat. Not sure about 12's with a steady get away but we'll see, really don't wanna break her just yet, lol.

You should fly into the 12`s mate.
If you`r not planning on launching, you won`t need any extra grip of the line, you won`t be spinning the wheels anyway, so increasing the tyre pressures may help a tad.
Just stay chilled, don`t worry about getting a good reaction time and make gear changes smooth and quick, trying to go too fast with em increases the risk of missing a gear.
When you get bored of this, Hold revs at 6K let go of clutch, hold on...

You should be aiming for low 12's if your 400 and shed some weight out of the car.
Time is taken from launch to finish, not when the lights change.
This is my mate Jamie in his 6 speed classic at the pod last month. He's running under 350bhp but around 370 lb/ft.

Wow, that's some good going Hamster.
I'm currently using a P1 box so it's pretty much at it's limit with normal driving so my launch control will be staying firmly off.
I'll just take it steady off the line and open it up once moving. Anything starting with a 12 will be amazing but I'd be happy with a very low 13. As long as she drives home I'll be happy, lol.
Car is all stripped out, came in at 1160KG but has a cage now so more like 1200KG now.

Just home from the pod, it was a scorcher today! 2 hour delay from around 11am as someone was stung and went into anaphylactic shock!!
Still managed a 12.4 on my first run and ran consistent mid 12's all day. Not bad for a WRX!

That's quick timthebat
I'm off to Shakespeare tomorrow in the aim for 11s. Doubt I'll make it, but I'm gonna have fun trying
MattyB, you should smash 12s easy. I'm running less power in a newage and am running 12.2 all day long at the moment..

There was some wierd stuff going on with times at pod. I rang my mrs after each run and both me and matty kept getting 17s on the board but at over 100mph. Went and got the sheet and was running 13s all the time with odd low 14. Best was 13.6@101, shaved 2 tenths off my best so happy with that given the heat. We were both getting worried at one point that we were the worst quarter mile racers in history!
Also nice to report my box is one piece despite launching hard 6 times. I love RWYB for the huge variety of metal you see there. Loved the AMG merc estate, sounded immense!
