Default You've gotta be kidding me...

The funniest thing happend to me yesterday, I was outside painting my brake calipers from the standard red to black and this guy was walking past, I'm guessing he was out for a stroll in the unusual October heat.

He then says to me: "you wanna paint those red, not black"... he obviously hadn't seen the other side so I explained that that's the colour that were originally and that I was looking for a more understated look (my WRX is black & silver). He looked at me like I was bonkers.

Then... he started to describe what sounded like a Starskey & Hutch style stripe and said that I should look to get one painted in as it would make the car look longer!!! I politely explained that I had removed all the stickers and badges, again as I was looking for a more understated look.

And then... get this... he started telling me about a bodyshop where I could get some detail air brushed on, he was telling me that a nice eagle across the bonnet would set it off nicely.

I began looking around for some hidden cameras, I swear someone was having a laugh at my expense??

There's a lot of them about, we can't afford to keep them in the nut hutches anymore.

I'm a magnet for these nutjobs... especially on nights out or in random qeues.. They do provide top notch entertainment though!

I think he got left behind in the late 1970s... and was a little bit of a Jackanory job.

He was talking about his old 3.0 Capri with a cromed engine, and how he used to beat Audi Quattros etc off the lights when he was towing a caravan.

He deserves a Top Gear feature

Did the use Nos in the 70s? I suspect that the caravan would have disintegrated if he really was getting that sort of power down on the road.

It was amusing but I had to get ride of him before my hammerite smooth went off.

Maybe he's on to something (or on something)... I could have an eagle air brushed on that appears to be getting sucked into the bonnet scoop

But to be honest, don't think I'll bother waisting my time, I'm not really in need of £40 quid,
Maybe he'll make it £200. LOL
