I knew someone would ask "why an impreza". Thought the lpg question would be obvious. Its half the price of petrol. i would save about a 180 quid a month if this was the case.Tom

why does the reason to own an impreza have to be because it guzzles fuel, somepeople like the look, the feel, the drive experience and some simply the fact of owning one. not a pop, just more a realization that its not all to mod the death out of them.
IMHO, i think petrol for the weekend fun driving and LPG for the daily commute is not a bad idea actually. fair play to you mate.

i owe lpg 03 wrx.
no problems at all. passengers dont belive its on lpg.
why not impreza?
main reason- money,2 trips abroad a year,i could push acceleration all time not like 90 percent who never heard own exhaust, it takes max lpg 30litres / 62miles ,average is 18l
i like look, burble, after suspension mods stay on road like train on tracks, perfect cheap car
paid 700, job done by LPG Wales, Cardiff

if You ever owe sti or wrx you should know how much petrol it takes i bet 26l or more /62miles when push
try it , push to max revs on every gear boy dont scared
30litres 70p per litre =15l petrol on max revs
my record is 11l petrol or 13l lpg per 62 miles but cruise like sunday driver

I've owned 5 from new over the past 11 years, so I know how much petrol they consume
But the simple fact is that you cannot undertake a long trip, without planning which outlets have LPG available.
For me, that sort of defeats the point of LPG

max consumption is near 30l per 62miles
tank is 60l but I can fill 56litres.
average for 80m/h is approx 16l per 62miles , 220miles on tank- close to that
max tank if You would like use spare wheel is 70litres cylinder.
in spare wheel space max tank is 45litres
2 weeks ago on shell garage i met porsche cayenne turbo, surprisingly owner drive 5years on lpg

no lpg has own ecu which use petrol map ,they copy or try catch petrol map -10percent less power on lpg
they could map lpg ecu above petrol map but you need very good lpg parts/ spend 300 quid for 10percent power not bad idea depends what you wish save money or spend

Really depends how you drive with LPG,if you driving normally(in this i mean,70mph on motorway etc)you should do on full tank of LPG 42L,you can do 330miles,this is has been best which i can manage.
Lowest which i manage is here in London(only city driving) 160miles on full tank.
If its worth to do,yes if you looking save money on fuel

On average how long before you recoup the initial outlay in savings?
Are there any long term issues, i.e. extra wear and tear/seal failure etc, with running LPG on a performance engine?

Long term issue with LPG,LPG is too dry,due this i would recommend run only with Flash Lube kit and i wouldn't run above 3.5k-4k RPM,more people will disagree with me,but i know from mine experience and about the long term of use,not sure,we are run just 10k miles and we are before suffer with damaged valve seats(due this car have low compression on one piston),some said LPG just accelerate this.
Jura
500bhp will be still enough for driving to shops and some track days
Jura
For mine conversion we are paid £1200 and 42L tank,on full tank we are make 330 miles, when we have CEL we are make around 240 miles.

Had My WRX 2005 converted in january this year done 7k so far in it no problems at all i pay 74p a litre for LPG, thers no diffrence in power from petrol to LPG it still accelarates the same and done over 110 mph on a private road on lpg no diffrence to petrol. It will take about 18 months @7 k a year for it to pay for its self

LPG is removed and on new engine i wouldn't put LPG..
500bhp will be still enough for driving to shops and some track days
