Default House burgled

Well went out saturday nite with the wife for a beer and got a phone call 3 hrs later from next door saying back double glazed door and been smashed and alarm going off, Got a taxi back home , when i got there police were waiting. went in the house and found both back doors had been smashed open.check all rooms and found all they had taken was wifes purse out of kitchen. Police seem to think they were after the scooby keys but luckly the alarm had scared them off.Apparently they had broken in to my shed and used my tools to try and gain entry through back windows but couldnt so went through the doors, so now iam thinking of getting a home CCTV kit any one know any good systems around £250 -300
also must say the police were very helpfull and a fast responce and filled all my paper work in as i had had a few vodkas also direct line were brill getting the door boarded up within 2 hrs
next day finger print guys came around to dust down but the low life crims had been wearing gloves , so guys and girls watch them scoobys

I used to keep my wifes astra infront of my cavalier turbo.. Three nights in a row someone set the cavalier alarm off. so three nights of broken sleep..

On the 4th morning I woke up to find the wifes car in the oposire neighbours drive with the door bent back and bonnet up... My cav was gone as was her battery...

We have two dogs now but in all honesty I can't see them eating some shunts face....

Luckily I have a garage so the Impreza is kept in there. I still have CCTV cameras in the garden and on the garage with plenty of stickers warning of the cameras.
I also have a very secure safe hidden in the house which I put my Subaru/garage keys in whenever we are out.
I'm not a fan of dogs so that was out the window. You usually find a good alarm and some visible cameras put most thieves off. But like people say, if they want it bad enough they will take no matter what measures you take.

A few years ago a pal of mine had a stunning saph cosworth. Was running in the region of 500 and was an absolute minter. He had some fancy alarm fitted, wheel clamp, gear stick clamp, steering wheel clamp, one of those posts in the drive and parked it right
outside his living room window. He had been to a show in it and thinks he must of been followed home. Woke up next morning and car was gone. Nobody heard a peep.....

A bit naughty but the Inlaws neighbour wired his garage door to a couple of car batteries, one morning he came down, garage door open, bike gone and in it's place a set of industrial rubber gloves!

Moral of the story, if they see it and want it, they will have it!

I've been lucky i caught them in the act on my property, and cut a long story short I ended up with the criminal record and a report on Look North (local news)

I have 3 CCTV cameras from maplin and they are good black and White ones, the colour ones I tried weren't very good when looking at night footage.
One of them detects movement and sets off a very loud alarm when movement is detected.
All cameras record all of the time with one on a 40 inch tv in my bedroom.
There's 4 floodlights that light up half of the street, steer wheel lock and 2 alarms on a paging system on the scooby, and an alarmed corsa blocking mine in.And a massive dog that sounds like a dinosaur when he barks.

If It was legal I would also have sentry mini guns on guard.
Check out maplins mate,I get quite a few bits and bobs them and they seem pretty good.

Danny.
