Default anyone here used a transmisson jack cradle before ?

i need to honestly get my **** into gear and fit this gearbox to the impreza, now i have mates help me last time but i want to avoid asking them if that makes sence, its not a nice job tbh so dont want the polite " yes no problems but this weekend is not good" stuff and tbh i dont spend as much time as i used to so feel a little like im taking the **** for a favor and i hate people like that

anyway ive seen a sealy or clarke transmision jack cradle, it goes on a floor jack but supports it ( i hope) so i can jack it up and wiggle away the type that fixed onto a floor jack head if that makes sence

just wondering has anyone used on and if so is it a waste of 60 quid ?

bear in mind that a subaru gearbox is ****ing heavy and so is the diff when trying to fit them on the floor and the next box i will be fitting will be about 20kg more heavy too

so anyone here used one ?

I have had one of those for about 8 years, its been used once, and never again.

If working from the floor i use this, lost count of how many times i have used it, but it works brilliantly every time.

is the cradle crapo then ?

i seen that aswell but its coming close to double and looks like it sort of does the same job but checking just incase its like some other tools that are cheeper alternatives but generally are crap like them cheepo plastic clutch alighment tools or ball joint splitters that are forks and wreck the boots when seperating so you always need a new ball joint each time of use

The cradle was awkward to use, you needed the car so high to get it and the box under it, it then wouldnt lift high enough to put the box in.

As i said, i bought the Draper transmission cradle, used it once, and its still sat on the shelf.

I bought the Draper scissor transmission jack, and its been used more times than i can remember, worth every penny. Its also very good for doing the rear diffs.
