nice car, but a biatch to keep that matt black clean and if you bend it, scratch it, scuff it etc then its a pig to get a paint match.

Doesnt mention anything about power mods, are you planning on keeping it standard?

Make sure its got 2 keys and with those mileage Id try to get some extra discount seen them go for around 6k with 20k less miles.

I have a couple more i will find links for and post them,
This Black one was at 7500 just the other day, he says it is reduced to clear! it was his own car previously black and well looked after, also said he has had a fair few of them and knows them inside out.
i was a bit concerned about milage but to what i have read well serviced imprezas are good for high miles.

Just noticed this is reduced over the last day or so as well and only 35 miles away from me

The other half says why travel 300 mile for a car when that silver one is just up the road.....i would like a black one is one answer and second is that cars in Aberdeen are high priced.

The guy says it has been painted matt black, he has a business that does body kits and the like Mconversions i think it is called tarts up bmw to make them look like M models.
The more i think on it the matt black is maybe not the one to go for, going to take a look at that silver one tomorrow i think.

common fault on Blobeye is the rear shocks knocking its happened with mine , If you drive at slow speed over a bumpy surface you hear knocking at the back. check clutch is good make sure it isn't slipping and can be in excess of £500 to fix. Make sure the gearbox is Ok and not crunchy through the gears when on boost. Whichever one you buy ensure cambelt was done a 50k miles / 5 years and prefably has all the service stamps ,a big service can be over £600.
Also you get alot of stonechips in the bonnet which may not show in the pictures. Im no expert but having owned one of these cars for 1 and a half years now Im learning. . like i said earlier someone on here paid less than 6k for an 54 plate sti a few weeks ago its a buyers market so you should be able to negotiate a big discount.

Thanks for that.
I went to have a look at the silver one today and it seem an ok car i think.
It had a new clutch and flywheel 3500 miles ago, timing belt at 47000 no knocking from the suspension, nothing abnormal about the gearbox.
There are a few minor marks on the paint but nothing serious that cant be fixed.

This is the front panel under the bonnet, i don'tknow it this has been repaired at some time or not????
[IMG][/IMG]
[/IMG]

An oily bit on the hose under the intercooler???
[IMG][/IMG]

Clean engine bay, no strut brace, is there meant to be one?
[IMG][/IMG]

A bit of a bump on the corner of the bumper which he says he will get fixed for me.
[IMG][/IMG]

There are a few scratches on the driver side skirt from going in and out, nothing major, a small peel of lacquer on the passenger side one, some very light scratches here and there, bonnet has a very small rusty chip on the passenger side corner next to the windscreen, nothing major again.
Anyway i got a very short test drive today due to no petrol in it but i am going back tomorrow for a longer run in it with plenty petrol. It seems to drive good, a little torque steer when on full boost, good tyres all round 8 months mot, tax end of December, Brake pads are wearing thin which i will try to get a set from them, prodrive pack but no certificate that i can see, it has a full stainless exhaust with prodrive on it, prodrive alloys that have small bubbling around the nuts.
No rust that i can see but a few bits of the black underseal in the arches are needing refreshed.
Can,t think of anything else at the minute but i might find more tomorrow.

no obvious sign of paintwork on the car anywhere and the bumper seems to be fitting alright, the gaps are the same anyway.

That silver one looks like a nice motor, but is it really worth £7000. I know it comes with a 3 month warranty but I got MY03STI ppp Jay I've 2 months ago for well under £7000.

If i was me id look at a few more first I reckon you can get one with 20k less miles for the same price advertised. Go in with a low price , if you dont get that one youll get another around the same money or less.

Does the dealer know why the front panel has been repaired? I'd want an explanation that I'm satisfied with before commiting to buying a performance car with obvious evidence of repair.

Went to look at this silver car again today and another test drive, got half gallon of fuel in it so that has put me off.
Anyway i went in to a dealer close by to me in the morning and he has a nice 04 plate blue one http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...47tg?logcode=p
He let me have a test drive in it for the afternoon, said just go drive it and have fun, take it wherever you want to go as long as you are back before i close very nice of him. so we went and seen that one as i said and a quick look at some more but there is nothing that good just now.
The silver one i was almost set on until i got hardly no fuel to try it again and after driving this blue one which is a very nice car to drive, pulls well and drives perfect straight.
i only took a couple pictures of it as i handed it back to him
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
The car is in excellent condition with a full history belts just newly done new disks and pads on the front, 2 mature owners last owner for 5 years, the only thing i could find is the wheels are a bit flaked here and there but thats no big issue. standard car apart from the exhaust and radio which is a sat nav tv radio touch screen thingy. he is putting a years mot, 6 months tax and 3 month full warranty with the car,
He has knocked a grand off the price so we decided to go with it and put a couple hundred of a deposit on the car.
So i am almost a scooby owner, a bit more than i had planned to spend but its is a very low mileage clean car.

And now get ready to spend some more on mods.
Looks like a nice one and very nice low miles.

You made a wise choice. There were a few unanswered questions about the silver one.
Don't worry about the alloys paint flaking, refurb them in anthracite.
Decat / sports cat and a remap to release some grunt
Whiteline 24mm rear ARB to sort the handling.
Welcome to the fold.

it will be about the end of the month i think,
I have a nissan xtrail at the moment, boring i know but it has been advertised on gumtree and is sold pending payment then i have to wait til payday at the end of the month for the balance.
It was 8k, as for mod's i don't know yet what to do if any, a turbo timer will be quite high on the list and she want a dump valve.
I was wondering if there was some sort of timer that limits power until fully warmed up, anybody got any ideas on this?
